Comment: I received six Annie’s gobies and a reticulated hillstream loach from Dan’s fish yesterday. The fish arrived on time and are all in excellent condition. Each fish was in an individual bag. If you are considering a purchase from Dan’s, I would recommend ordering without hesitation. I have never seen better packing or nicer looking fish, right out of the bag. Note that I always drip acclimate.

Comment: Amazing experience!!! I had to change the shipment date a couple of times due to unforeseen circumstances - Dan's Fish made changing the shipment date process extremely easy and straightforward! That being when they arrived - everyone looked great and were eating "immediately" after acclimation. I ordered some long fin super red bushynose plecos and these are by far the best individual specimens that I have seen; while still small - the coloration and fin-age is incredible. I highly recommend shopping here and will continue to do so - as they have a lifetime customer and fish fan in me!

Comment: This is my second batch of black otocinclis so now I have 20. I love this species because they are mini and beautiful pattern. They are pricey but aquarium-raised so I think it is worth a premium for the hobbiest anscwell ans these vigorous young fish. Anyway all are well and appear delighted with their new home. I noticed my first 10 are really enjoying wood based on the “sawdust”. Now it is a pretty big colony so let’s see what comes! Comment: I bought kissing rice fish, long fin white cloud mountain minnows, and sweet little cherry barb youngsters. all arrived healthy, beautiful, and all of them ate within 30 minutes of being put into their tank. the white clouds immediately hung out with the other white clouds, as did the cherry barbs. this is my first time having rice fish, they ate from the top, and I also put tiny sinking baby pellets in a bare bottom corner of the tank, (the rest of the tank has substrate and plants) and the rice fish along with all of the other fish were happy to eat right from the floor of the aquarium. lovely fish, lovely experience.

Comment: Dwarf gourami came alive and healthy! There was a leak in one of the packets, but despite that everything was all good! They did send me the wrong fish at first (a raccoon tetra) instead of a dwarf gourami, but after a quick email it was resolved, and I was sent the correct fish. It was just a mistake. They even told me what kind of tetra it was after I asked, which was very kind and helpful of them. I also asked if they could send me a male gourami, and I did in fact get a male! The dwarf gourami is doing great. So is the raccoon tetra who's been shoaling with my neons while I save up to get him more friends, lol. I will def be ordering from them again in the future!

Comment: This was my first time ordering online. I've always been wary of letting someone else pick it my fish and not seeing them when I buy. But I after Dan came to our club and talked about the quarantine process and all the work they go through to ensure the fish are healthy. After I places my order I was notified that one of the fish's fins was damaged and they wanted to keep it to monitor him. Then when they were sure he was healthy they dropped him off to ship. Then I got a notification from the shipper that the package would be delayed due to bad weather. That made me nervous thinking of the package on a runway, in Wyoming, in a snow storm. That's when I got a message saying that the team had gone out and picked the fish back up from the airport to hold onto until the weather passed. Eventually I did get my fish. All of them were healthy and eating within a few hours of being added into their tanks.

The fish all arrived in perfect condition and I have never seen so much attention given to packing the fish right. Comment: I never liked buying fish online because of my fear the shipping companies will mess it up. But I really needed these fish. I ordered 6 alleni rainbows and 6 kali tawa rainbows. All arrived alive and well despite the insolence of UPS in cold Colorado winter. The tawa are already showing spawning behavior not even a full day in my tank! Comment: Another amazing group of fish. All my fish arrived alive. Guppy gave birth during transportation so I'm now the proud owner of some guppy fry. The pygmy sunfish colored up relly well after being introduced to their new home. I believe there is at least one male and one female but since they didn't really color up until after being introduced to the tank it's hard to tell unless I manage to see multiple at once

Comment: For the first time since I've been watching the website (2 yrs) they had chili rasbora, celestial pearl danio and wild bettas! I immediately ordered them!After a 24 hour delay due to weather, they arrived. I was worried, but the fish are fine, even after 54 or so hours in the box. Comment: I ordered around 30 corys (pygmy and hastatus). I was nervous because they were delayed an extra day due to a storm, but they arrived in great condition! No signs of illness and they acclimated perfectly in my planted tank with the other pygmy corys. Within a few hours they were all swimming around together and look SO happy! Comment: Ordered cherryshrimp, green tetras and cory hastatus. All tetra arrived fine, very boisterous. Hastatus looked like they went through “an experience”, 1 Cory DOA (i suspect packaging failure as it almost had no air - was refunded), several others with some scratches, couple in rough shape. About 2 weeks later i am missing one more Cory (though could be hiding), the rest seem to be doing much better. 1 cory has extra black spot on 1 of its side that darkened and grew, almost like natural pigment (?). Green tetras are boisterous gluttons, cherry shrimp (i received 5/4!), seem to be good, though one is growing up completely clear (?). Overall happy with company, having this source is invaluable to noobies like me who might not be specialists in diagnosing fish ailments. Thank you, Dans Fish staff

Comment: Placed an order for ember and lemon tetras, dwarf mollies, and some cherry shrimp and algae shrimp. All fish arrived alive and healthy with zero signs of illness. They were placed into a well cycled, planted tank and have all been doing exceptionally well for the past 10 days. Comment: It was cold and windy out, so the fish were a bit chilled. But they were all alive and have suffered no ill effects thus far. The Fox Lizard and Erromyzon Hillstream Loaches are very pretty. The Dwarf Mollies are also charming. I wish I had found them earlier so I could get more than three. The only hiccup is that the website's shipping calculator listed the box as full with only 9 fish in it. The box came with an empty padding bag, so I'm not sure why it wouldn't let me add another fish while ordering.

Comment: I requested more females, and five of the eight were indeed female. All but one of the fish came in good condition. One of them though was DOA and looked like it had its abdomen torn. Dan's fish refunded his cost and tested the tank to check for pathogens. Consensus is that the DOA was damaged in shipping. Three weeks in, one of the females looks a bit skinny. But otherwise they are doing well.

This was my first order from Dan’s Fish, and every single cardinal not only survived, but they’re thriving in my tank. Bright colors, active, and eating well. I also ordered orange Venezuelan corydoras, and they all showed up perfectly healthy and are doing amazing. Their color and behavior were spot-on right out of the bag. One thing that really impressed me was the shipping quality. When I opened the box, the internal temperature was 75°F, and I live in North Alabama. Yes—Dan’s Fish is more expensive than most places. But after this experience, I can say confidently: the quality is absolutely worth it. Healthy fish, zero losses, and an stress-free experience. I’ll be ordering again!

Comment: This was the first time I've ordered from Dan's Fish. I waited a few weeks to write this review so I could really see how they did. I ordered a Apisto Cacatuoides Double Red Trio. Initially I was a nervous of the price since I hadn't ordered before and wasn't sure of the quality. Everything I had read said Dan's Fish was one of the top places to get mail order live fish, and they were correct. You totally get what you pay for. The three fish I ordered came very well packaged and looked very good right out of the package. Once they were in the aquarium they looked happy and colored up quickly. They have been in there for about 3 weeks and both females already have little baby apistos. Overall just a 5 out of 5 experience all the way around.
