They were delivered next day as promised, and were alive and well! Dan's Fish was so much better than my previous experiences with two other online retailers. On Oct 30, with outside temp of 55°, the heat packs were 88°, and the bagged fish water was 77° for a quick transition to my 76° tank. I'll be happy to order more fish from Dan's Fish in the future!

  • Comment: Fish arrived looking great. They are still looking good. They are tough little fish too. I have one in an unheated tank outside that I've been chasing with a net for 2 days. I'm moving the group from an unheated tank to a heated one for the winter. So far, the little stinker has evaded my net. I guess I'll have to take the entire tank apart to catch the little guy. All that is to say, it was in the 40's last night and he's still alive along with one fry I didn't know was in there.

The fish were immediately active and swimming around and started to color up right away with no issues. After a few days they are all looking real good. Everything in DansFish control was a 5.

Couple endler females arrived w/fry Puppy female was pregnant had babies 48 hrs later. I waited approx 80 hrs to send review. Thoroughly pleased wouldn't hesitate to order from dans again just hope I can get another tank set up before winter.

  • Comment: I bought 18 fish in total. Each fish came individually double bagged in a Styrofoam box with chemical heaters. All fish are currently in a pre-cycled 20 gallon quarantine tank. In about 12 hours all are very active and eating. No signs of parasites or disease. Very healthy. Would definitely buy from Dans again and would recommend.

  • Comment: i don't know how they do it but the crew at dans fish stand head and shoulders above other online retailers. i have always received healthy, partially grown fish from dans. dans wasn't the first place i tried and i have had many bad experiences with other places..ie dead arrivals, stressed, malnourished baby fish that don't survive acclimation etc. i read a lot about the sensitivity of these fish and how they stress during shipping so i figured i would try to find them at a local fish store. the first store i found them in was a two hour drive. i got 6 and drip acclimated them into a community tank. i lost 1 or two a day for 4 days until all were gone, no other tank mates were affected. i found another place and bought 10, in the quarantine tank i noticed they all had fin and tail rot and were already an inch and a half! these fish resembled and acted like green fire tetras without the red stripe, very boisterous fish with a different body shape. none of them made it through quarantine. bummed out i decided to give up on these fish and did for awhile but that wild hair grew back and i decided to give it one more try but this time with dans. all 10 arrived alive and active, not colored up yet but that is to be expected. they are drip acclimating right now but i expect total success this time. don't waste time ,money or energy anywhere else, these guys get it right every time.

  • Comment: My 2nd time ordering and it was amazing. My 5 albino Pygmy corys are so fat and happy. I one hundred percent will be ordering more. I plan on ordering a lot more in the following weeks because of the great quality. The cherry shrimp are red and healthy as well. I got assorted aquarium fish to see how lucky I would get and I got a dwarf hovering loach. I love the thing so much that I added them to my wish list and will be buying him a big group when they are in stock again. Thank you Dan for the amazing quality.

The packaging was professional and clearly done with care, and all the fish were thriving right out of the bag. I was especially curious about the Platinum Rummynose Tetras—at a higher price point, I wasn’t sure if they’d be noticeably different from the regular variety. But wow, they’re stunning—easily among the most beautiful fish I’ve ever owned. Their shimmering, silvery sheen adds a whole new dimension to my tank. Overall, I’m incredibly impressed. As usual, when there is an issue, Dan's Fish makes it right without hesitation: one of the longfin super red bristlenose plecos I ordered was not in fact long fin (it was a short fin super red). I was immediately given a full refund when I reported this. You can't beat Dan's for the combination of fish quality and customer care.

  • Comment: Dan's always has beautiful, healthy fish. Quick shipping where all the fish are individually bagged. By individually I mean, if you ordered 35 neon tetras, you'd get 35 individually bagged neon tetras! That may not seem like much but I believe it keeps the fish less stressed and if one were to die in transit, the rest won't be swimming in the rotting soup. It's attention to details like that that keep me coming back!
