Comment: I ordered 15 Harlequin Rasboras. They were larger than expected, which was a good surprise. The fish look fantastic. So much better than I typically see in local fish stores. They are active and shoaling. My heart gets a little lift when I see them. Thank you, Dan and crew!

Comment: All fish arrived healthy (dull colored from stress though), double bagged, and one fish per bag. All were clearly labelled, box was kept at a good temp and they all made it. The color-up was immediate and the tetras joined the existing shoal no problem, and the loaches....well, are loaching (swimming at high speeds in all areas of the tank, hiding, etc) As far as I know, the fish are thriving. I can spot the 5 rummynose easy enough but I've only been able to find a couple of the dwarf chain loaches (there should be a total of 9, 8 of which were ordered from Dan's). They may just need a few more days to get comfortable but I'm in shock that an online retailer got me better/healthier fish than my own LFS can.

Comment: Ordered three trios of Red Drago Guppy's over the course of two weeks. First order arrived with two trios, with one male DOA. The other was showing sever signs of stress compared to the females. Sent email, they did honor the DOA and refund my money. Then the following week, ordered another trio. The male made it here and wasn't DOA but he was very unactive and I knew something was off. I slowly drip acclimated all fish like I always do over the course of 2 hours. I added them to the tank and the male was floating 6 hours later. I am not sure if the males are so weak due to being inbreed but something is for sure wrong with the males they are sending. I now have 6 females and one male that I am really hoping hangs on and stays alive. Another note: The package arrived and the temp was 79 degrees, so I know it wasn't due to excessive temperature swings. There has to be issue with the line of males.

Comment: Everything came very well packed and super healthy! I got 3 Stripe Apistos and 4 Mystery Fish. Only suggestion is maybe labeling the bags of the mystery fish once they ship. I can only identify 2/4 of the fish. The two I can’t are a pleco (only a few possibilities) and a female guppy, just wish I knew what kind! Will be back for more in the future!!

Comment: We had previously purchased from another online fish store (before researching reviews) and had a bad experience, we were hesitant to order again but the pleco we wanted we couldn’t find anywhere local. After researching Dans and seeing his videos we decided to give it a shot, and so glad we did! The care and passion shows through, each fish was individually bagged and shipped air! We had our fish less than 24hrs after they shipped. Multiple heat packs the box said handle with care (the other company did not have any indication that there was a living thing in the box), and when we opened up the box everyone was alive! We acclimated our fish and everyone has been lively eating swimming and look nice and healthy. We definitely have plans to buy again!

Comment: I ordered 18 fish and 3 rabbit snails for my 75 gallon tank. Everything I ordered once shipped arrived next day as anticipated on a snowy Michigan day in lovely 15 degree weather. I had them inside right after delivery and opened about 10 minutes after receiving. Packaging was neat and tidy, still plenty warm with heating packs taped to the top. All fish were lively and after floated for 25 minutes let free in my aquarium. Here we are approaching day 2 and all are just as healthy. The assorted “mystery” fish was a pleasant surprise also. Will definitely purchase again one day from Dan’s fish! Thanks for the good experience.

Comment: Platinum Redtail Dumbo Ear Guppy, Pair both had Ich. Yellow King Tiger Cobra Guppy, Pair the female had ich. One of the Red Dragon female had ich. First time buying so I'm not sure if this is the norm but out of 12 guppies 4 had ick. This is nothing new when it comes to live bearers but my buddies from the local fish club glazed the f out of this website stating they quarantine their fish and care for the fish. For the price I would look elsewhere. Another problem I have is that out of 4 males only 1 actually resembles it's name the rest looks like mutt guppies I would find at Petco. I've separated the 4 that showed ich spots into a tank I had running for fry whereas the rest is inside my quarantine tank. Please ALWAYS quarantine your fish no matter what people say. I am very upset with the quality of the fish and the false claims. I've seen worst but this is why people hesitate to join this hobby. 24 hour update all my Julis from Dan's fish has died. I doubt it's my setup as the albino corys I'm quarantining on the side from my LGS are doing great. The 4 guppies with Ich are going through the phases with meds helping. My buddy keeps telling me I got unlucky but I feel extremely lied to about their healthy and sassy fish. It's more like sick and depressed. 48 Hour update Meds are doing work all guppies are eating and looking well besides the white ich dots on the 4 that I've separated from the rest. An important thing to note I've been informed that Dan's fish uses salt while shipping. Although I can't prove its the cause of death, It also can't be disproven since all the julis died within 24 hours while the guppies are alive and well besides the 4 that came in with Ich. If your doing your research and click on the 1 ratings my final say is that I might of just gotten unlucky? I would recommend you to buy just a few to test before making a big order like I did. 8 julis dying hurts the wallet. Credit where credit is due their customer support is good.

Comment: Wow. All fish arrived alive and sassy. Usually when I buy fish online, acclimating them and getting them to feel comfortable in my aquariums can feel stressful. Fish hide, lose color, etc. Immediately after dropping in, my beautiful Macmasteri pair made themselves right at home and are happily at the front of the tank, as if they've always been there. The gold ring danio immediately joined forces with my existing danio crew and are traveling together like long lost friends (I trust Dan and choosing not to quarantine). You pay more, but I can't believe how seamless this experience was. Thank you Dansfish!

Comment: I have been in the hobby for 25+ years including working at aquarium stores, fish farms, and a bunch of semi-professional home breeding. This was my first time ordering from Dan’s Fish, and I can honestly say without hesitation that it was the best shipment of fish I have received or sent in my entire life! Packing and shipping is second to none I’ve ever seen. The care and attention that must have gone into packing and preparing my small order absolutely blew me away- truly the new gold standard. It had me wondering how they don’t lose any money they make as a business given their industry standard shipping costs. I even had to modify my order and customer service was promptly responsive and truly excellent. Yes, some of the fish are more expensive than other sources, but I can assure anyone that the quality is worth it. I got a few rare species that I’ve been trying to find for years and they arrived 100% alive, super healthy, beautiful, and larger than expected (a great thing for me). They acclimated well and are behaving and eating like they’ve been in their aquariums for their whole lives after less than an hour from the time they arrived at my house. 10/10 would recommend. Do yourself a favor and buy from Dan’s Fish!!

Comment: I had heard good things about Dan's Fish so I decided to give it a try for the fish I couldn't get in my area. Unbelievably happy with my order. Exceeded all expectations. Shipping was exactly on time, packaging was extremely professional. The precautions in shipping are so appreciated, I'm sure the work of bagging each fish individually and including heating packets in the styrofoam insulation gave the fish the most comfortable ride a fish can have. The rummys and some of the loaches arrived quite pale, which worried me for all of 2 seconds, but after being in the tank only an hour or two, their colors have exploded! They're all bright and active, not a single casualty in shipping and not yet in the 6 hours they've been in my care. Wonderful animals and wonderful business, will certainly be returning when I decide to expand my aquarium hobby. Thank you folks so much.

Comment: All eight arrived in good condition with nice, chunky bodies. I lost two within the first week, but Dan was extremely helpful in providing more information on their sourcing and previous vet diagnosis. Wild-caught fish are extremely prone to parasitic infections and evidentially these guys had been treated for nematodes. I was able to get a rapid recommendation on how to proceed restarting a treatment regiment and after a month I have not lost the remaining six. I'm sad to have my first unexpected loss from Dan's, but after ordering a lot of fish over the years, it's not bad odds. So despite an unexpected outcome, I still give it 5/5. You won't get this level of transparency, traceability, or vet sign-off prior to shipment from basically any other seller.

Comment: Hi Dan and associates, my fish arrived today! Individually wrapped and seemingly no worse for the wear. I floated them as instructed for 20 minutes before releasing them into their own 36 gallon tank. They will transfer to my main tank in about a month if all goes well. This was my first time ordering fish online. I worried about those fish from the moment I hit that button! All that worry was unfounded! Comment: Fish arrived on time and beautifully packed. They are much healthier looking than any fish that I have gotten from my LFS (which I think is pretty high quality). Very pleased with their size, color, and condition. One cory looked quite stressed after acclimating and I was worried he might not make it, but he pretty quickly has colored up and looks much better. The other gold lasers are impressive specimens. The mini snowball pleco is beautiful and a little smaller than I expected, but I’m good with that. Overall, the fish are expensive, but you get what you pay for. I don’t think I’ll buy fish from anywhere else. Thanks!

Comment: I ordered banded sunfish and Dwarf golden eyes which came in perfect and extremely active. I was worried about shipping to me in the cold but Dan’s assured me they would be fine and they were. Only hiccup that I was not happy about was UPS put my package at end of my 200’ driveway in the snow and it says right on box keep at room temperature. Thank god my wife caught it in time. Comment: This is my first time ordering fish online. I ordered Rummy Nose Tetras and Cardinal Tetras to build up the schools that I already have in my 90gal planted tank. I also ordered 3 German Blue Rams and 5 CPDs (Celestial Pearl Danios) to put in the same aquarium. They all arrived healthy in a very well packed shipping box and the heater packs were still very warm. I appreciate the diligence put forth by Dan to ensure that all of the fish were packaged safely. I really liked seeing that all of these fish were individually bagged. I believe this helped reduce stress on the fish during transit. I plan on breeding all of these fish in the future.
