Comment: This was my first time buying fish online. Dan's was very patient and communicative regarding shipping and purchasing. The fish(all styphodon gobies, 3 total after combining orders) arrived quickly and were very active. They colored up immediately upon release into my tank and got to work eating algae and biofilm. I am very happy with my purchase, and will be a repeat customer for sure (not right away, as my tank is full, but one day!) Thank you Dan's!

Comment: I ordered six Orange Venezuelan Corydoras to give my hard-to-find False Bandit Corydoras a proper group to shoal with. I was genuinely impressed with the care that went into the packaging. Everything was clearly designed to minimize stress during shipping, and the order arrived very quickly. All six fish arrived healthy and active. Since I know there's a pH difference between Dan's Fish and my aquarium which runs on the lower side because I use UNS Controsoil—I took my time with a two-hour drip acclimation. Within a couple of hours of being introduced, they were already hanging out with my False Bandits and, to my surprise, my Pygmy Corydoras as well. Watching the Orange Venezuelans play in the flow from my HOB filter has been a blast. They're active, curious, and full of personality. I couldn't be happier with this purchase or the overall experience. Healthy fish, thoughtful shipping, and excellent service from start to finish. Highly recommended.

Comment: All fish arrived alive and well. All fish were individually packed and heat packs in the packing box were still warm. The fish arrived at their scheduled arrival via UPS. I fed them that evening and they all ate well. It’s been a week since I received them and everyone is doing good. Out of all of my purchases since November 2025 from Dan’s fish I only lost 1 rummy nose for which they reimbursed me from just me noting it in the review. Local area stores have a far worse track record on survival. I would have never thought of buying online until the local suppliers kept selling me weak or diseased fish. I have purchased 100 fish from Dan’s fish since last November, 99 are alive and thriving in my tanks! In my experience Dan’s fish does a remarkable job overnighting and sending strong healthy fish! It’s worth the cost of shipping to not have to buy fish over and over again! Great job! Thank you for making this hobby enjoyable again!

Comment: These Congo Tetra's are beauties. They are sized as advertised and you can tell they are extremely healthy. The males were muted from the travel when they first arrived, but within 24 hours their bright fluorescent colors were showing and they were schooling and exploring. Do not hesitate to order from Dan's Fish. These fish are top tier quality. I traveled for HOURS in my state to all the boutique stores looking for local large tetras. The quality of the fish I received from Dan's Fish are better than anything I've seen locally.

Comment: These fish (and shrimp) are excellent and the care in packaging them is beyond anything I could have expected. I was hesitant to order fish in the mail (this was my first time) but I heard about Dan's Fish, watched their videos and was happy they provided their water parameters. The fish arrived, we let them float in their bags for a while with no light to calm and stabilize them and then released them. And within an hour there were eating, exploring, and displaying very healthy behavior. Its been a few days now and all of them appear to be very healthy.

Comment: I am confident that these are True Siamese Algae Eaters. The kind that do not turn aggressive, that school, that eat hair algae and sometimes even black beard algae. Imposters have taken over local fish stores. Something labeled "Siamese Algae Eater" could be any number of other fish. Fish that turn aggressive and territorial, and that don't really eat algae. These arrived absolutely healthy, although a bit shy. Didn't see them for the first week or so, unless I surprised them. Now they are out and about. They are even schooling with my Pygmy Cories, which is pretty amusing, since they are SO much larger! And the trouble tank has no more hair algae already!

Comment: Cute little guys, very healthy! I had 2 survivors in my aquarium from a fish disease last year. I waited for a while to make sure the remaining fish in the aquarium were all healthy. Dan provided 3 more Emerald Rasboras to go with my existing 2. I know they're all happier now in a larger school. I love that I can buy fish from Dan's knowing that they'll arrive healthy. It is so much easier to add to existing tank mates. Dan's is not the cheapest. But they are the BEST.

Comment: everything arrived alive and well packaged. The fish were minimally stressed out, the acaras colored back up and are very active within a day. They already seem to have their pecking order established and are all slightly different sizes. The two random fish (kindve cruel for a novice to be able to buy this, I have 11 aquariums and a few hospital tanks though) I'm very happy with - I think I got a sunburst? platy and a beautiful breeder female guppy with a stunning amount of coloration and a dark gravid spot. She was completely gray when she got here but colored right up when I put her in with my fancy guppy girls for now! I cant wait to see what her fry look like :) The longfin albino pleco had considerably torn fins upon arrival. I have him in a 37g with a koi angelfish and another pleco. I've observed them for about an hour over the past day and they seemingly get along well so hopefully with the sandy substrate and some good food it heals up quick. I imagine theyre sensitive to shipping damage if they get startled and thrash around.. :( I've heard great things about this seller and trusted what I've heard enough to add these fish to aquariums I care deeply about and I'm glad it turned out well. Healthy happy fish that acclimated quick, 5 stars!

Comment: I got my long fin electric blue rams and they do not disappoint! Really pretty. I had to shift some fish around to make room and I’m so glad I did. When they get fired up, like cichlids do, their head turns dark blue like new Levi’s. I keep trying to get a picture, but it just isn’t the same. Very cool fish! The box was exactly 80* when I opened it. Perfect ram temperature.

Comment: Just getting back into the hobby (last tank was late 90's). This was my first time ordering fish online, and I was so nervous. I knew I wanted to order from Dan's Fish, because the reputation of this shop is outstanding. The process was easy and customer service was above and beyond. I reached out to Dan's before placing my order with questions regarding my stocking list for my community tank, and they were so helpful, and really put my mind at ease on my stocking choices/numbers based on my tank set-up. The seven Longfin Cherry Barbs I ordered arrived safe and sound, all very healthy and active, not a speck of fish waste in the bags. They colored up within hours of putting them in my tank, and were displaying normal behavior, no stress. Within a day they were all over the tank, no fear, no hiding, no stress, and eating very well. They've been in my tank for a week now, and the behavior I'm seeing from them is amazing. They are like water puppies; coming up to the glass when I walk up to the tank. Yesterday I was able to witness spawning behavior from the group. The colors were amazing! My next order of fish will arrive in a week. I highly recommend Dan's Fish...you won't regret buying from this shop.

Comment: This was my first time ordering fish from dans fish. My order was for 16 Venezuelan Cory. The condition they arrived in was nothing short of hard to believe. I live 20 minutes from a highly respected aquarium store that people travel from out of state to get to. Dans fish arrived in better conditions than the fish I purchase from that store. Plenty of color and HIGHLY active. Cory’s can release toxins when highly stressed, these fish arrived individually packaged in heat sealed double bags. Cannot possibly recommend them enough. I have just one complaint. One Cory arrived deformed. It looks like he ran face first at high speed into a wall and his mouth is rotated upwards and to the right. BUT he is lively, eating well and seems perfectly healthy besides the obvious deformity. We plan to keep him and have named him Egor.

Comment: Unfortunately the SAE didn't make it, I believe it was too much stress for it since he was already a good sized fish. When I opened the box he was literally bouncing off the bag he was so stressed. I acclimated him as usual, put him in the aquarium, and for a week he barely moved, just sat on the bottom, and I never saw him eat anything. I bought an SAE here many months back and he is doing great with a remarkable personality, but I think he acclimated much better due to his smaller size. He was eating flakes and brine shrimp within hours of going in the tank and swimming around quite happily. Guess I'll have to check on sizes before I order certain fish species.

Comment: The Cory’s are such an interesting little fish. I love Cory’s, but these little guys are adorable. They arrived healthy, packed onr fish per bag. No one packages fish like Dan’s fish. Comment: 2nd order was also smashing! Every single fish alive and healthy. The danios and WCCM colored up to almost as good as my existing fish within 30 minutes. 5 out of the 12 danios were obviously pregnant, which indicates they were being well fed and were happy. A day later everyone was settled in to their tanks and greedily eating.

Comment: The fish arrived on time and look great, the box was obviously packed with a lot of care and attention. Cool pack was still working even though the weather was unexpectedly warm here. Floated the bags as instructed, and I left the lights off for them to settle in, an hour later they were already exploring and even ate. Comment: WOW! All fish arrived in great condition, as they always do! I ordered 3 fish from the $10 random assorted fish and I am very happy with the fish I got! Sadly, I can’t give this review a perfect 5 because none of those 3 fish were identified. I’m fairly experienced so I am able to tell what they are but, I received a beautiful cichlid that I can’t identify yet because it’s too young so I’m not sure which tank I should put it in. Other than wishing I knew the exact species it is, I am extremely satisfied with this order!
