  • Comment: Two days after receiving my first order from Dan's Fish, I turned around and ordered more because of the immaculate packaging and amazing health of my original order. This second order did not disappoint - 2 pygmy Cories, 2 Chili Rasboras, and 4 cherry shrimp arrived happy and healthy, and have already started making themselves at home in the tank and are coloring up just after an hour or so!

I buy a lot of live fish online,& the attention to the welfare of these animals,whilst in transit,makes all the difference. Ethical packaging/delivery is matched by the health of every animal sold,something that Dan's Fish is known for. Yup,you're gonna pay a little more,but you will 100% see where that money went the min you see your fish,not just in quality but also in the general disposition of an animal that is treated well. I look forward to all my future sales! Side note-My 4 dwarf redtail eels quickly became as important to me as my dogs,they're lovely little gentlemen & I totally adore them.Thank you Dan!!!

They’ve been in my tank for about two weeks, they are all healthy and beautiful, and I would say their quality is top-notch. They also happen to have really fun personalities, but I think that might be universal to all plecos, idk. Highly recommended.

I get to see all of them every time I feed. They come right up to me. I’m definitely saving up for another order because these are the healthiest fish I have ever had shipped to me! Every fish was vibrant and healthy. This was by far my best experience in ordering even better than just buying in person. I've had my eyes on a few dream species of gobies for a longgg time, and finally pulled the trigger a couple of weeks ago. I asked a few questions immediately after purchasing fish, which were answered within hours. I received updates after every step was taken both right before and during the shipping process. The fish arrived at my home in North Carolina healthy, secure, and cozy with temperature regulating bags. They started coloring up and grazing within a few hours of being in their new home.   • Comment: Another great shipment from Dans Fish. Bags of fish were a bit warm, 86F measured with a temperature gun, but acclimated down to 79F just fine after about 2 hours. Outside temperatures were near 100F. All seem healthy and happy. The platinum yellow tiger guppy female has already spit fry. The peacock gudgeon juveniles are spunky and eating well. Thank you Dan and crew.

  • Comment: Dans fish is seriously the best place I've ever bought from, better than some in person places. It's definitely the best pace to buy for me because I don't live by any big towns, so the gas money would cost the same as the shipping fee. The only downside is that all of the fish are very small I've bought hillstream loachs, corys, khuli loachs, and cherry shrimp which looked like they were born a week before I bought them. Regardless it's still a greatplace to buy from.

  • Comment: This is the first time I order live fish online, and my fears have been put to bed. Each fish was individually packaged with plenty of water and oxygen. You could tell they were eager to get out! My juveniles arrived healthy and gorgeous. Only one didn’t survive the first 6 hours upon arrival, but it’s day 4 and all other Gudgeons are still alive and healthy. Zero signs of illnesses. A bit picky and shy, but they’re doing great. Very grateful for the love and care Dan and team are clearly providing these fishes. Thank you!!

But the tetras--two arrived with significant dorsal and anal fin damage and one has a gouge in its underbelly and is missing a swim fin near its underside. I've dosed the entire QT with maracyn and added a bunch of almond leaves.

  • Comment: About one month after arrival: All fish arrived in good condition and made it through quarantine without issue. The toothpick fish will eat frozen baby brine, which is unexpected but convenient. The otocinclus all look great, with nice round bellies. It took the 6 of them about a month to clear all the visible diatom algae from the 20 gallon high tank they live in. There is now no visible algae, and I am giving them algae wafers and zucchini slices. I haven't seen them eat either, but they still look fat, so they're getting something they like.

I have been in the hobby for 50 years and I can say Dan makes you feel comfortable about buying his fish, due to the fact that you will get exactly what you are told and they are healthy and perfect shape.   • Comment: I LOVE how this order was packaged. Each fish was individually bagged and the bags were either heat sealed or vacuum sealed or something. The snails were bagged 3 to a bag. All fish arrived alive and healthy! It's hard to tell with snails, but they are probably ok too! I'm really looking forward to getting them in my tanks.

  • Comment: I ordered 8 false julii corys. All arrived alive, however there was a 'runt' that was a lot smaller and seemed to not take the stress of shipping well. I caught him looking sickly too late, and he died a few days after arriving. Right now I have 7 fat and sassy corys and they are all doing well :) Edit: The same day I wrote my review, I got a refund on the lost fish and partial shipping costs with a nice email. Dan and team are really great guys, they got a happy loyal customer now

I have been refunded now but I think something needs to be done with how they manage shipping orders. The fish were very good quality though. If the orders had been fulfilled properly this would be a five star review.

No drama, no floaters—just thriving fish living their best lives. Weeks later and my water puppies are still happy. Dan’s Fish crushed it. Only downside? Dan’s gonna keep me broke because I’m definitely ordering again. I'd give 6 stars if I could. Keep up the good work crew!

They adapted to their new home right away, and are now just tottering around and living their best lives as if they've always been here. As an added bonus, the snails came with algae on their shells, which my Amano shrimp are absolutely loving, and they were accompanied by a nice collection of microfauna, which the fish certainly enjoy snacking on. So we got a free snack pack along with the critters we ordered!

  • Comment: Just received my stiphodons and i must say they look great and healthy as always but there is one small hiccup though, as i asked for a mix of males and females and received only males. I know that sexing is not guaranteed with the species i ordered but i would have liked to at the least know that there where no females avaliable at the time my order next time instead of being told that someone would try to sex them for my order. As if the staff are as knowledgeable as i have come to know, sexing most stiphodon species is very easy, as the males are colorful and females are almost always some variation of black and white striped, as they are in the species i ordered. So i can only assume there where no females of the species i ordered to be had in stock. Or maybe i just got an employee on my order that lacked experience with this particular species and didnt have time to look it up, regardless thanks Dan's fish i love this group of little dudes already!
