  • Comment: Purchased 25 fish, 6 snails, and 4 amano shrimp. All arrived alive in a styrofoam box with 3 heat packs and newspaper lining inside the styrofoam. All animals were alive and individually bagged with double bags which I’m confident after several purchases makes a huge difference in reducing stress and less ammonia in the bags. 2 neons died in the first 24 hrs. I know most of the tetras are sold as unsexed but of the 5 emperor tetras I received, they all seem to be mature males and seeing lots of battling. Would be nice to know that some consideration is given to sexing an order of 3 or more when sexing of a species is easier to identify.

  • Comment: Received fish on time, bags were at about 71 degrees inside. 2 cardinal tetras were packaged with a snail, one of them dying. The other struggled, uninterested in food until the next day when it died. 2 more have died since. All the corys and the remaining cardinals have been just fine so far. Just a bit bummed, but Jonny has made things right. Not sure if this is just a cardinal tetra thing, I know they can be fussy.

Seller Reply: Hello Ariminsol, Thanks for the honest feedback. I'm sorry the tetras had issues. If properly sourced and properly transported, Cardinal Tetras should not be fussy. They should thrive long term. Something must have gone wrong somewhere if they arrived to you dying and weak. Please let us know if you have any additional losses in the next week or so.   • Comment: I would recommend even though only 8 of 10 survived. 1 female Congo tetra was DOA and one male died about thirty minutes later. five males 3 females which is perfectly fine. Refunded for the one DOA plus shipping which is unusual to get shipping prorated in this industry so thats nice. Since the other one technically arrived alive but was lethargic i guess thats the breaks. mail order is a dice roll no matter how healthy before packing. but the communication along the way and the packing of the fish—you really cant ask for anything more. tight single fish in each double bag. perfect temperature. the survivors already voraciously attacked some brine shrimp so hoping they will be fine. rest are happy. thanks

  • Comment: Easy to follow process from finding the fish on the site all the way through picking shipping dates. Makes for a easily planned arrival. All fish should up extremely well packaged and in great shape. The corydoras quickly recovered from the shipping process and colored up very nicely in their quarantine tank very quickly. All the signs of extremely high quality fish and very much so worth the cost. Looking forward to when they get out of quarantine and go into the display tank in a few weeks. Will gladly do business with Dan's Fish in the future and already planning future orders for possible breeding projects. I definitely recommend them as a supplier for those looking for high quality fish and some harder to find species/localities.

The three-striped apistos (Apistogramma trifasciata) have colored up beautifully in only a matter of hours and are already eating and swimming around the community tank like they've been here for weeks. Oh, were they ever surprised by the blackworms inhabiting the botanical littered bottom! It was live on arrival as is their guarantee, but one Celestial Pearl Danio died minutes after I transferred it to my quarantine tank. All other fish are alive and well so I would assume this fish could not handle the stress of shipping and transfer. Dan's made it right even though the fish was alive upon arrival. Will be ordering again.

  • Comment: First, let me say that the cherry barbs and silver tipped tetras I ordered were delivered on time and all were in excellent condition upon arrival. I was initially disappointed a couple of days prior to the scheduled shipment date that the rasboras that I'd ordered had become sick and so I wouldn't be receiving them. Upon reflection, I realize that this kind of attention to detail and concern for customer service and satisfaction is truly impressive, and in my experience an all too rare occurrence. As it turns out, the silver tipped tetras that I chose as a replacement for the rasboras have been a great addition to my tank! Serendipity!

  • Comment: The Long Fin Cherry Barbs are stunning. That red color just pops and gives my tank just the right amount of color. The fish really stands out. They can be a bit aggressive but compared to other bards minimal. The laser cories are stunning. They never stop digging up the substrate looking for bits of food.

  • Comment: The handling of all fish is paramount to the health of all fish. The shipping method with individual bagging goes a long way to ensuring healthy fish. Every fish was in great health and were anxious to get out of their bags. The Panda Garras are a delightful fish. After just a few hours of getting settled in they were more then happy to devour some tubiflex worms. The L201 Snowball Pleco took a few days to get comfortable. When the moonlights go on he's out and about devouring algae wafers. Beautiful color. The Long Fin Corydoras are stunning. That long dorsal fin dances as they dart about picking at bits of food.

Although all fish arrived alive the Male Guppy was very weak and died about 36 hours after being added to the tank. This group of CPD's again looked "undernourished", but began eating and seem to be prospering.

  • Comment: This batch of CPD's looked very thin upon arrival, but appear to be eating well and have mixed in very well with the other CPD's as I expand the group. I lost one of the Reticulated Hillstream Loaches a few days after delivery, but the others seem to be flourishing. 30+ days later, I have lost a 2nd Reticulated Hillstream Loach.
