Comment: Out of 4 Reticulated Hillstream Loach only one survived after 2 days. One was DOA and 2 died the next day. I blame UPS not Dansfish. The shipping box was HOT upon arrival. Dansfish was responsive and compensated me for the DOA and the shipping portion. I keep hundreds of fish and have ordered from Dansfish before and will continue and believe they are a 5 star company. I have had problems with UPS previously and will only accept delivery from FedEx in the future. I support Dan’s Fish and locally owned fish stores.

Comment: I witnessed something that I found most unusual when I placed these new guys into the tank. I can only attribute this to their striking dotted and striped pattern and bw coloring. Half a dozen tetras including a neon tetra swam up close and just nudged the new guys. Startled when the corys moved and jumped to life again! That got the tetras got even more curious. I think they thought the corys were a new type of food? But they were definitely NOT trying to attack. Just a wacky curiosity. I wished I could have provided a video.

Comment: All fishes arrived alive and active, each is in the individual bag. Water was still warm for February overnight to MA. UPS delivered it around 11am EST. I ordered 6. Small UPS box can have 4 extra small bags and I've got them with no fish (as part of shipping handling). So consider 10 small fishes for small UPS box.

Comment: Everything arrived as expected. Fish single packed. Snails grouped per bag. So 3x per. Immediately adapted and coloured up. With the exception of the purple mystery snails. They looked more brown than purple, I don't know if they age into a more purple shell. Within 3 days found one dead. Since I've only seen one cruising around the tank so I don't know if one is just happy in a corner I can't see or if it perished. From my experience with mystery snails has been they love running all over so leaning towards loss. Everyone else is still thriving after 3 weeks. Would buy again.

Comment: Extremely happy again. The Bolivian Rams and Coral Red Pencilfish settled in to the tank within an hour. Looking great. The Strawberry Rasboras are fun to watch and interact with, excitedfor them to color up. Still waiting for the Betta Siamorientalis to settle in but thats a slow go as expected. Comment: The quality of Dan's Fish is stellar. 16 nano fish, individually bagged, and a bag of 4 shrimp (with their own mini net for comfort and stability), all arrived in immaculate condition. They were in transit for less than 24h and the water in each bag was pristine. So far, all 20 creatures are obviously healthy and active, juveniles rather than babies, and acclimating quickly to their new tank. I will absolutely be a repeat customer!

Comment: Dan's Fish ☆☆☆☆☆ Five Star Review☆☆☆☆☆ It was easy for me to confidently order from the Dan's Fish website; Why? Family and friends have ordered from Dan's Fish and extolled at their positive experiences. The ability to choose the shipping day either at checkout or later at the Dan's Fish website, I thought was amazing. The ability to login to the Dan's Fish website, anytime, and view the progression of my order as it was being prepared was so impressive. For example: "we're choosing and setting aside the best specimens for your order, we're fasting your fish in preparation for their shipment, your fish are being packaged", and more. The 10 Lazer Corydoras catfish I recieved in less than 18 hours, via UPS Overnight, arrived alive and vibrant! Neatly packed in individual bags for each of the ten, with a label on every bag. Most of the fish were moving around in the bags with eagerness as I lifted them out of the well insulated, heat pack included, box. They have acclimated very quickly and are swimming in a school with the other five Lazer Corys I have, making a total of fifteen, happy Fish. I'm so very pleased with the entire experience of ordering and receiving... and now enjoying, my latest Dan's Fish acquisition. It is highly worth doing business with Dan's Fish!

My duplicareus came in happy with no issues and literally 10 minutes later the markings turned jet black and that beautiful yellow orange spot was more than visible. Comment: These guys really know what they are doing. We bought fish from somewhere else and Dans is above and beyond. Very professional, fish delivered alive and ready for our tank no quarantine needed. They do all that before the fish are sent by their Veterinarian. The fish are packaged neatly and safely according to the climate. But most important to me is that they breed their wide variety of species in house and don’t wild catch. Very impressed with their whole operation and very happy with our new fish!

Comment: I have ordered several times and (per usual) customer service, packing, shipping and overall health of the fish I ordered were great and well worth the price per fish...except one. The long fin super red fish I received, although healthy and doing well, has turned more and more brown as it has developed. Looks as though it will eventually be more calico or at least not a good clean red. Unfortunately, as a breeder, this will not help my plans to diversify my long fin super red group as I would consider this one a cull. It will live out it's life as a pet and be happy but your sourcing of these little guys might want to be looked at. Thanks! Jason

Comment: 3 of the 6 Green Sail fin Mollies arrived looking pretty rough. 2 of the males are pretty thin and weak looking, one female looks possibly deformed. The other two females look robust and healthy, and the 3rd male looks healthy. I'm assuming it from the shipping, and hope the 2 thin males and weird looking female bounce back with care.

Comment: Pleco didn't make it. Probably osmotic stress, even with a slow drip acclimation. They should be minimum 2" before buying because they are extremely fragile when small according to experts. Mine was an inch and a half at best.

Comment: This was my 10th order of fish from Dan’s and all the fish arrived in great shape! The (old school) blue acaras are doing exactly what Dan suggested when he mentioned them in his YouTube stream: They're bringing me back to my boyhood days of seeing these fish for the first time. All three are a great size and very healthy. One of them (pretty sure a male) is a bit sassy for a blue acara, but I think there's plenty of room for them in my 75gal and plenty of dither fish to deter constant chasing. They're a great addition next to my tank full of electric blue acaras!

Comment: I had a great experience. Thru no fault of Dan’s, UPS delayed my shipment by over a day in the middle of winter (Michigan). I think the box sat in a cold warehouse for over a day. The fish were not alive when they showed up at my door. I contacted Dan’s right away and they responded we are sorry and this rarely happens. They sent the guppies back out a couple of weeks later at no charge to me. They showed up on time and in great condition. Thank you very much

Comment: OK, that was super fast and unexpected! I posted the review below a couple of hours ago and it notes that I lost a rummy nose tetra later in the day after it arrived alive. And I received an email from customer service 1 hour later, without asking for a refund, they refunded me for the fish! Great customer focus guys! Nice job! All cardinals look good and colored up within minutes of entering the quarantine tank. The rummy nose took about an hour. One rummy nose was swimming upside down and died by evening. All fish were individually packed and heat packs in the packing box were still warm. The fish arrived at 11:45am 15 minutes ahead of their scheduled arrival. I fed them that evening and this morning every one ate well. This is very good! I’ve had too many bad experiences with the local stores in my area. I never even thought of buying mail order until my first purchase back in November. 33 fish arrived 1 had a problem with the stress of the over night trip. That’s better than some of my local purchases. Thank you!

Comment: I’m really disappointed with how this order has been handled. I received an email stating my order would ship on a certain day so I planned around that and even worked from home as a one-time exception to receive the delivery. I later found out the shipment was pushed back because my orders were automatically combined — without any clear notification that this would delay shipping. While customer service did respond and explain what happened, the lack of communication around the change was frustrating and caused unnecessary inconvenience. For a business dealing with live fish, clear and proactive communication around shipping dates is critical, and this experience missed the mark.

Comment: Order process was easy, communication has been great, shipping was super fast, all livestock arrived healthy, happy, and ready to eat despite this chilly Minnesota winter. I'd encourage anyone to order from Dan's, the fish arrived to my home healthier than fish I've received from local stores. Giving 4/5 stars because I didn't receive one of the items I had ordered, Dan's fish refunded me pretty much immediately for the missing item plus percentage of shipping. I was really looking forward to what I ordered, and now I'd have to pay flat rate shipping for just the one thing, so it doesn't really make sense for me to do that. Sounds like my situation was a one-off (stuff like this happens to me often) so I hope this wouldn't dissuade anyone from ordering. ***Update*** 5/5 stars. These guys will absolutely go above and beyond should anything go wrong. Customer service reached out and made sure I would receive the rest of my order the following week!!!

Comment: My first fish in my newly cycled tank (dwarf gourami)..meet Primo! I was nervous ordering online and his color was dull when he arrived but he quickly acclimated and is now the most beautiful, vibrant orange and blue shimmery mix. Comment: I have been purchasing from Dan's for quite some time now and continue to recommend them to everyone in the hobby. Prior to this review my rating would have been a 5. However, I recently had an order in which the following day 3 of the CPDs were dead. I know this is not my fault as all my parameters were perfect and stable. The 3 fish were in bad shape when they arrived and I was unable to claim them dead for a refund. I believe this had to do with the shipping process as Dan's takes care of their fish more than any other delivery company I know and I have used plenty of others. They are still my go to but this was an unfortunate situation nonetheless. Update: Within 30 minutes of leaving this review I was contacted with an apology email and refund without ever asking. Customer service and product quality does not get better than Dans

Comment: Received my lemon tetras and dwarf gouramis in great condition. Dans gave me great advice about the gourami disease ( of which these are guaranteed disease free of that virus). I also ask for a chance to get one male of the gouramis and while they couldn’t guarantee it at this age, I’m pretty sure I got one due to its color already. Very happy with the whole process including how fast they reply to questions.
