  • Comment: I have been lurking for some time on Dan and team's youtube channel. Watching them build the warehouse and seeing his mission come to fruition. I finally got to the point, where I had some extra room in a tank to order some fish. I ordered two pairs of tequila sunrise guppies from the team. Communication throughout the process was exactly as advertised, clear and concise. My guppies came in within 1 degree of what Dan's team is keeping their fish at at the warehouse. No indications of stress, and the fish has adapted perfectly to their new tank. I can say with utter confidence, that anytime I am looking for new fish for my tanks, Dan's Fish will be the first place I will look. The one thing I would call attention to for anyone ordering from Dan's Fish (just an observation). If you have soft, city or well water, make sure to do a long acclimation period with whatever you order. The water from Dan is very hard (multiple TDS meters had it just under 3k!). Just be aware while you acclimate your fish. Can't wait to place another order!

Seller Reply: Howdy Micksfish, I'm glad to hear that the fish arrived in good condition. Just so you know, we add salt to our shipping water to make osmoregulation easier for the fish during transit. A lot of the hardness your TDS meter picked up is that salt. - Dan

  • Comment: Ordered Some Silvertip and Platinum Rummy nose Tetras along with some Orange Venezuelan Corys for my 100gal Community South American Tank, and a Coral Platy pair to go with a female Betta. Everyone showed up warm and healthy on a chilly day. The Silvertips colored up almost immediately and formed a tight school. The Rummy nose started reddening up after five minutes. Everyone was eating with their tankmates in the first hour. Beautiful healthy fish. Thank you Dan and Crew!

  • Comment: all fish arrived healthy! Spotted Blue Eye are very active. Even the one looked slightly weaker recovered within one week. Black Stripe Dwarf Cichild are really pretty. However, I believe once they are in a tank without other black stripe dwarf cichild, they start to show aggressive behavior, even between a male and a female. These dwarf cichilds are generally peaceful towards other fish and shrimp at this point. Really happy with the experience and will defiantly order some other fish in the future!

I have been back in the hobby for a few years now and these are by far the best that I've seen. I watched Dan build his warehouse and enjoy his videos. They are the reason I purchased from you. My only complaint is the fish were advertised at 2.5-3" and the largest one i got was 2.5" and the rest are very clearly only 2" Plan to be a returning customer nonetheless.

  • Comment: First time order from DansFish for a New 100gal. Blue Tetras (10) and Otocinclus (6). And a few Nerites. Box showed up Next Day, well packed, with lots of active fish. Within an Hour the Tetras were exploring and eating freeze dried daphnia and live black worms. Otocinclus were checking everything out and snail started working on some biofilm almost immediately. Looking forward to my next order from Dansfish!

I have never ordered a fish on line before in my over 62years! I saw you on Youtube and watched a two hour video and was extreamly impressed! ..I saw you had Black lancer catfish and order Three of them..they were Shipped promptly and arrived healthy and happy the next day.. I took a video of them and sent it to expreess my joy of my first fish internet experience...moments after sending the video I noticed an imperfection on one of their pectoral fins..even though it was evident in the video I sent I took another one focusing on the abnormal fin....not knowing what to expect since other than the imperfection the fish seemed fine..before I could give it a second thought my email chimed in with and apology for the minor flawed fish and a refund !NOW THATS WHAT I CALL AN ABSOLUTE WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!!! Yes I'll definately be a repeat customer and I'll be singing your praises to everyone in my Aquarium society and fish buddys that I know!! THANKYOU AGAIN FOR SUCH A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!!!

  • Comment: Lovely packaging for snails! Their temp was 84 degrees. The tank they went to - my 90G Angel /Rainbow Tank is 80. I have got LFS snails or bought online and have slow or negligible to just dead snails as a near norm. NOT THESE GUYS! They were moving and working immediately! I didn't know Rabbit snails could move that fast!!! Nerites happy too!

  • Comment: Dan's Fish does it again. Second time ordering. Just like my first order, fish arrived when promised. I ordered 7 celestial pearl danios. Each fish arrived individually bagged. Packaging was excellent and the fish arrived in awesome condition. Good size (for a tiny cpd), great color, healthy and active. I acclimated and added the fish before my lights came on. Once the lights did come on, I could not tell the new cpds from the 8 that were already in the tank. I strongly recommend Dan's if you're looking for awesome fish!!!

  • Comment: Two out of 7 angels were basically DOA and died later on the arrival day. Fish barely had enough water to cover their bodies in the shipping bags. A third angel came in with a large gash on its side. This was only evident a day or so after. Disappointed with the order and customer service regarding replacement. Carefully read all terms and conditions as the form that came with the box and front page are not true.

The packaging was excellent with each fish in its own little bag. I don't know of anyone else who does this. The 5 Glowlight Danios I received were the best specimens of any fish I have ever purchased on line. I bought these fish to add to 4 I already had in my tank for about 6 months, and had full gorgeous color. The new fish looked almost as colorful when I first put them in as the originals. Two days later, I can barely tell them apart. The fish seem to have settled in, are very healthy and active. Will recommend Dan's very highly to any fishkeeper. Thanks Dan!!

  • Comment: I found Dan's Fish via Steenfott Aquatics who i found via Aquarium Coop so i new this fish store would be different (more like i hoped) and i wasn't disappointed.I've received a total of 18 fish so far 8 Venezuelan Orange Cory's (spread out over 2 orders) 5 Otocinclus cat fish and 5 Giant Kuhli Loaches.99% all arrived in pristine condition except 1 Kuhli loach it was slightly stress faded but by the next day had already recovered its color.No deaths,no deformities,no diseases just vibrant healthy fish.Dans Fish has now become my #1 source for all my fish purchases.There packing and shipping are incredible Dan'Johnny and the rest of the staff are just good folks who are passionate about fish and it shows.Thank you. They were in the tank maybe 30 minutes and they were already jaunting and spiting at the top of my acrylic 60 gallon !! I’m sure they will be snacking on the unintended guppy fry in the tank.

Because I am handicapped, I could not visit local stores (that all seem to have impossible isles to navigate w/ a walker and stairs to climb). So I had never even seen ember tetras or CPD’s but these fish — every single one of them—arrived fat and sassy and ready to rock ‘n’ roll. At first I thought it would be trouble to unpack fishes one by one but it turned out to be an unexpected joy to have time to spend with each individual fish looking it over, talking to it, and introducing it to its new home. Kudos to Dan and his team. I expect I’ll be getting a lot more fish from you, especially as I’ll be moving to Wyoming soon.

  • Comment: The good: The fish are stunning, it’s worth spending a little more for the platinum rummy their bodies are iridescent and much flashier then the normal rummy. I’m local so I picked them up in person. They were carefully individually packaging, a detail I would have loved if I was shipping. The bad: 7 of the ten fish I bought were very stressed and some had significant damage to their noses to the point of having no red left. Three were in perfect condition. If I was shipping I would chock this up to shipping stress but having picked them up in person this was a little disappointing. I properly acclimated them into a well cycled tank and this morning all of the sick looking fish were dead. The three healthy looking ones are doing well and are beautiful but three survivors out of ten on a $80 investment is disappointing.
