Doing well several hours later, a couple of weeks in Quarantine and he'll move into one of the larger tanks. Thank you Dan and Dan-O and the rest of team. Great job!

  • Comment: I've always been wary to buy fish online, but after reading through the FAQs, I wanted to give Dan's Fish a try. I'm very glad I did. All 16 of my fish were carefully packaged: double bagged individually as described. The water each fish arrived in wasn't even dirty. Everyone was alert and active. They're currently getting used to their new aquarium and I'm loving their looks and activity level already. I'm keeping a careful eye on them for the next couple days, but so far I will definitely be ordering all of my fish from here in the future!

  • Comment: All 8 Pygmy Cory’s and 8 Rick’s CPDs arrived safely and looked well. The CPDs are very active and seem to have settled in well as are 7 of the Cory’s. One was not doing well at 36 hours after arrival and I thought he had not survived. But this morning he is looking better! All in all am happy with the fish and with how well they were packaged, they were promptly shipped and arrived quickly. I will definitely come back when ready to add fish to the new 40 gallon that is currently cycling.

  • Comment: Healthy fish, exceptionally packaged is the standard at dans fish. It’s possible that there is another company that does it close to the level dans does, I’m not aware of them but it’s possible. However, there is no one that does it better. I can’t see myself ever buying fish from another source. Todays purchase was Pseudomugil Gertrudae Aru IV. Spectacular, breathtaking, absolutely captivating. I can’t begin to describe how stunning these fish are. The males colored up in a few hours and it was showtime!!! They are one of natures greatest spectacles and it’s a privilege to have them in my care. Update 9/8 all of the guys and gals are doing well, so we’ll that today they presented me with my first batch of fry!

Five hours after unpacking, I witnessed spawning behavior in my quarantine tank. Now that I have done business with the best, I can't imagine ordering anywhere else in the future.

I had one that most likely had a rough trip and passed after acclimation. He looked less active before adding him to the tank. I emailed just seeking advice for the future, sent my parameters etc and Jonny helped me out wonderfully. I highly recommend this shop. They truly care about their animals and their customers.

  • Comment: All fish arrived in great health! I was worried because we had a surprise heat wave come through with temps around 92°F on delivery day. I wasn’t able to get the package for about 30 minutes so it sat outside. When I opened the box everything was cool to the touch. All fish individually packed. They even filled the extra space in the box with bags of just water to help maintain temperature. All in all the best online fish buying experience ever. Dan’s fish is now my go to source for quality fish and shipping.

  • Comment: Everything arrived packaged well and it arrived fast, less than 24 hours after being shipped. Although everything was packaged great one of the green neon rasbora was DOA but Dan's Fish was quick to handle the situation. Some arrived skinny but hungry, but sadly over the next few days I lost a couple more. I also ordered a trio of the Platinum redtail dumbo ear guppy and I have already lost a female, and the other two are doing okay. This has been my second time ordering the platinum dumbo ear guppies as the first pair did not make it, I hope these two do. The lentipes gobies and dwarf anchor fish arrived great :) and are doing good. Overall it's been a great experience, but I have not had luck with the platinum redtail dumbo ear guppies and they are expensive!

Each fish was packaged individually which I have never seen and I love that it was done this way to cut down and any chance of injury or illness spreading. Every fish was perfectly healthy. Even though I was looking for some female CPDs and they were being sold unsexed Dan’s fish did their best to accommodate and I’m so happy I can finally balance out the male to female ratio of my school.   • Comment: The fish came in looking incredibly healthy. Colors were a bit stunted, but that's to be expected after being shipped. The gudgeons are behaving a bit sluggish, but I can assume this is due to stress and that they will become as active as my other gudgeons in time. The gudgeons are sold at a large size, dwarfing my 3 I had already. It seems as if they did a good job of getting the male to female ratio I requested, though time will tell, as no strong nuchal hump can be seen. The rasboras are doing well and are eager to eat baby daphnia. I originally planned to keep them with my gudgeons but the new ones seem a tad large at the current time. The rasboras are shoaling nicely in my QT tank.

  • Comment: I have complete trust in the Dansfish team to care for and ship these precious creatures in such a way that when I receive them, they are healthy fish who recover from the stress of shipping pretty quickly, because they’re doing so from a foundation of solid health. My experiences with other sources has been hit or miss, especially with how the fish are shipped. Dansfish is consistent. If mistakes happen or even events outside of their control, they’re responsive and helpful. They really care about the animals, as well as customer service. That matters to me.

I never worry about the quality of fish I order from Dans Fish because they only raise up and deliver the healthiest and spiciest fish on the net. I have ordered at least $1000 of fish over the past year and I have never been disappointed! Why worry and buy from other sellers that really don't humanely care fish like Dan's Fish does. Do yourself a favor and try them out. You will come back!

  • Comment: I searched high and low for Marbled Hatchetfish, and no one had them except for Dan’s fish. I had seen several of his YouTube videos, and I like what he stands for when it concerns fish health. I put the hatchet fish into my cart, and, needing one more fish to “fill up the box”, I added one blue eyed rainbow fish. On delivery, I was so impressed! They looked great even in their bags. All 8 fish were in their own separate bag, were actually DOUBLE BAGGED (you’re impressed, right?). Each bag was labeled with the kind of fish it was, so no worries about the identity of each fish. Within 5 minutes of putting them in the quarantine tank, they were coloring up well. That fast Now, 5 weeks later, I haven’t had a single fish loss. The hatchets are hale and hearty in their tank, while the lone blue eyed rainbow (HOORAY, ITS A MALE!) is winking at my 2 females in another tank. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. This is now my “go to” online fish store. I’ll be back for more of those blue eye rainbows ❤️

  • Comment: I bought 8 cardinals and a pair of fundulopanchax gardneri killifish they arrived alive and well. They were stunning to look at but I noticed that some cardinal tetras were having a hard time but they just looked stressed to me until I noticed one was still very stressed and unmotivated after 2 days it disappeared and soon 3 more followed. I never noticed any symptoms of disease on the other cardinal tetras or on the fish in the tank so I assume it was due to shipping. I contacted dansfish to see if they or others were having the same problem but no it was only me. They sent a refund for the 4 I lost even though I wasn't expecting a refund since it wasn't their fault they died but they did anyway. It proved to me that dansfish is still one of the best places to buy fish from. They are honest in the way they treat their fish and customers. I'll always buy my fish from dansfish since I know the quality of fish they sell is topnotch. Highly recommend dansfish!

I got some really healthy and robust looking guppies and variatus platies - i had a small request on sexes for the platies, and they met the request!, and the CPDs were top notch! The individual bags with single fish was an awesome touch. Such a fun experience. I will definitely consider Dan's fish in the future for the amazing fish buying experience

Only around the head, but still brightened up the tank. I assumed as they got older the colors would come out. Much to my surprise when I got home this morning they are already getting more colorful.   • Comment: Order went quite well, The fish I recieved for the most part came in healthy, however 2 of the guppies i ordered did not make it. It seems more due to transit than anything. Although 1 of them was severely emaciated. Could've given birth right before being shipped. Aside from that though, the fish that came in after being acclimated were doing fantastic an hour after being let out. They all started to eat immediately. Definitely a great order with that small exception

I understand there are going to be variations in the quality of guppy however my Red Dragon female guppy has no Red. She is beautiful and healthy but not "Red Dragon" I do not feel this is representative of the pair I purchased. Maybe she still needs time to color up?

When I received the culture the label said 1/2 cup {it was a condiment cup...not a measuring cup.} If I knew the size I would have waited or chose a different size. I was not happy with the small amount I received. In the description I would ask that the amount is indicated to avoid confusion. I checked the description again to see if I missed a full cup option....

Gave them a day to settle in and the guppies have all colored up and the bumblebees are scooting all around the tank. Now my kitchen counter tank is alive with beautiful color and activity. I got 10 Amapa Tetras and 6 of Rick's Weitzmani Two Saddle Cory's specifically to put in a 40 gallon tank with my Alabama Map Turtle to help clean up after him. Turtles are messy eaters. Its been a few weeks and everyone is doing great. The Corys swim all around the turtle while he's eating, everyone gets along great! Thanks again to Dan and Crew. Healthy fish humanely cared for and shipped. If I could just talk the wife into a Fish Room!

  • Comment: My first time ordering from here. I always follow the suppliers directions for acclimation and this was my 1st Pleco. I watched a Steenfolt tour with Dan and fell in love with the Snow White L144. The pleco was packed really well and temp was good… seems healthy and lively. I like Dan’s logic of ensuring healthy fish before selling. Reminds me of my Betta fish supplier.. I feel it’s worth it to pay extra $ for the peace of mind and trust me for I have went the cheap route and it was more expensive in the long run! So far this lil fish is exploring the books and cranny’s of my 125 heavily planted community tank.   • Comment: The Orange Venezuelan cories arrived healthy and are doing great in my tank a week later. Cute little guys are going everywhere and not concerned with bigger fish. The Florida Flagfish arrived healthy but looked like they were shocked when released in the tank and I thought I’d lose them all. After 15-20 min, they were looking better and a week later all are doing fine. I floated them for 30 min, but the day they arrived was the hottest we’ve had this year and their water was warm. I’d suggest being very careful in acclimating them.
