Comment: The box arrived in the afternoon the day after it was shipped. It was very well packed and the heat pack was warm. The water temp in the bags was 71 F. All of the fish were alive and well. Customer service was excellent. I am an advanced hobbyist and Dan's is one of two sources that I use for fresh water fish.

Comment: Got another perfect shipment. Good temperature in the box, and everyone arrived alive and healthy. The Bloody Mary hillstream loaches were pale at first, but within hours had coloured up beautifully. The corys are still young, but their yellow fins have coloured up since yesterday. All of the fish are eating ravenously, as you would expect since they've been without food for the entire journey. As usual, Dan's did' a super job. They are definitely the ones to go to, and I'd recommend (and have recommended) them to anyone. They run as good an operation as anyone I know of. Further, they make sure that their fish are in top health when they send them out. It is an absolute pleasure to do business with people who care about the fish as much as I do.

Comment: This was the first, and so far my only fish which arrived dead. The heat pace apparently failed in transit, and since UPS had it in their truck all day, it froze. On the plus side of things Dan's Fish didn't hesitate to issue a refund. You can never fault the service of Dan's Fish. Their service, combined with the fact that very nearly all of the fish they send out arrive in great health is the reason that I would (and have) recommended them to anyone. It also should be noted that the failure of the heat pack was probably not their fault. Sometimes there's just a faulty one. No one can expect things to go perfectly every time. That poor little fish just happened to draw the unlucky straw this time out.

Comment: I don’t know of any other online fish retailer that does it better that Dan’s Fish. After a 24 hour delivery delay due to some wicked winter weather in upstate NY (you know- snow, wind, zero visibility, temps in the teens) ALL of my fish and shrimp arrived alive in 48hrs and are doing great! I can tell you, I was not hopeful. The water temp. was 71* and the heat packs still had some warmth to them. I gave them a couple hours to settle, and all were feeding later that evening. It just goes to show you that shipping HEALTHY fish CORRECTLY by people who CARE makes a difference. Great job to everyone at Dan’s Fish!! Thank you. Lisa W

Comment: One of the three blueberry snail is not moving around. It hangs some of its body out and does nothing for days. Two of the dwarf chain loaches came very weak, so weak and skinny that their head skeleton protrudes out. They’re trying to eat but seem picky. One of the rio Amaya developed dropsy after a few days and passed away the next day despite epsom salt bath treatment. All of the fishes from this batch are thinner and skinnier than earlier batch of the corresponding fish.

Comment: Shipment was suppose to be delivered next day then got notified they would be in transit an extra 4 days!! (Previous order was packed and was delivered with care directly to me - door bell was rung until I opened door). Chili were ok overall (2 were stressed and seem to still be small tiny and hide and glass surf non stop), 11 chilis were fine. 2/3 mystery snails (magenta) were oozing slime, i separated them in a separate tank, now I’m watching them slowly die, efforts to maintain stability are not paying off of it seems. Set up adjusted for 1 snail inability to come up for air, He’s floating sideways on a sponge, the other barely walking. Water quality excellent, temp stable, attempted to feed but kinda tricky (used sera veggie tabs). Golden Amano shrimp recovered it seems, 1 molted right away, seem to be doing good.

Comment: Everything about my order was fantastic! All of my fish arrived alive and healthy, and the pre-shipment information was clear and concise. My giant kuhlis are doing fantastic and even started doing their little kuhli dance within a couple of days! It's so fun to watch them noodle around the substrate. I was a little worried about my dwarf red-tail eel because I've never kept a freshwater eel before, but he is my most favorite fish of everything I've ever kept. He was pretty skittish at first, but now he's super chill. He even comes up to my hand and wiggles his little snout around my fingers when I'm trimming plants and cleaning! He's quite the little pig as well. All in all, great experience, and I've just placed another order for some guppies and endler's for another tank I have.
