  • Comment: I'm a return customer and, yes, I will be back again and again as long as the quality of service and dish fish and shrimp stay at this level. I'm writing this review at 2 weeks after I received my shrimp. The package is always on top, but, as I say 2 weeks in and ask the shrimp are doing great. None was lost during shipping and none even since receiving them. Thank you

  • Comment: I love that you can tell how well these fish are cared for and socialized. After putting the Rummy Nose in the tank, I left them in the tank for a few hours with the light off. When I turned the light back on they came to the front of the tank immediately asking for food, no hiding or being frightened. Their noses were red and they were already nicely settled in!

Seller Reply: That sounds like a horrible experience...I'm so sorry the Muzel developed issues. I greatly appreciate you bringing this to our attention. They look great here, but I've taken them down from the website until our diagnostic lab can examine them to see if they are hiding an illness so this doesn't happen to anyone else.   • Comment: As usual, all 30 fish (16 Rummy Nose tetras, 12 Congo Tetras, and 2 Panda Garras) arrived in good health, and the packaging was outstanding. After temperature acclimation, lights out, I introduced the fish to their new home. This was my initial stocking for this tank and included some Malaysian Trumpet snails. The fish immediately started schooling and exploring the tank. They didn't seem shy at all, so after 2 hours, I turned the lights back on low. They immediately came to the front of the tank. I fed a small amount, and they all ate hungrily. The next morning, all the fish were still doing well. I highly recommend Dan's Fish to anyone looking to order healthy fish online.

  • Comment: Five stars and more! I just unpacked my kissing rice fish and minnows. Wow! I love them! If you are in the fence about the kissing rice fish THEY ARE GREAT! As great as Cory and Dan say in their video. I had relatively low expectations of the rainbow shiners for my lotus pond, but they have the brightest blue fins! The minnows are such a fun creamsicle color. I love having all the great choices from Dans fish! Btw inside box was 80 degrees.

  • Comment: Updated review: I received a full refund from Dan's fish, including the shipping charges, without even asking for one. They must read the reviews. This was totally unexpected; I just assumed the risk of ordering fish online. Excellent customer service from Dan's fish! I will definitely be ordering again; any company that cares this much about their customers, and their fish, is doing business the right way. Thank you to Dan and his staff. First time ordering from Dan's Fish, overall the experience was good. Recommended by Aquarium Co-Op. Online shopping experience: 5 stars -the website is easy to use and they have thorough explanations of the shipping process. Shipping: 4.75 stars -I'd like to see slightly more water in the bags containing the fish so they can't be compacted during shipping if the box is turned on-end. Fish: 2.5 stars -I ordered a pair of Red Dragon guppies for a new breeding project. The male is a good specimen with nice color, healthy finnage, and a good body shape. He is half the size the female was but is healthy and eating well. The female had good color (for a female guppy), and nice finnage, however she did have a bent spine resulting in a "hunched look" and difficulty swimming; she was not suitable for breeding. She remained mostly listless among the floating plants, barely eating, and died after 5 days. I assume the stress from shipping combined with the physical deformity contributed to her ultimate demise as the male is vigorous and seemingly healthy. I realize ordering fish online is a risk due to the unknowns of shipping, but if I pay $70+ (including shipping) for a breeding pair of fish I do expect the fish to be suitable for breeding. Overall rating: 3 stars (weighted, as the fish are obviously the most important part). I would maybe order from Dan's Fish again in the future as the process was easy and the pricing is good, but I am disappointed that now I just have a male guppy with no mate.

Seller Reply: Thanks for leaving an honest review about this order. I'm so sorry to hear that the female did not make it and had a crooked spine. I don't know why that sometimes happens. On occasion, I've sent females that I inspected myself and they looked great when they were sent, but arrived bent for the customer. It doesn't happen often, but it leaves me scratching my head whenever it does happen. We've reached out via email to get this fixed for you.

  • Comment: Last week, I received my order of two trios of Japan Blue Swordtail Guppy’s, and 11 Longfin Corydoras. Everyone came in very healthy, except one of the female guppy’s came with a curved spine. I emailed them, and they fully refunded her and her portion of shipping. They said she was most likely injured during shipping. She is doing pretty well now, and has adjusted to it. They were very helpful over email and I can’t recommend them more! In addition, 3/4 female guppy’s came pregnant and one has already given birth! I will definitely be ordering here again for more high quality, healthy fish.

  • Comment: It has been two weeks since my first order from Dan's arrived, and I could not be happier with my new fish! I purchased a LF Snow White Pleco and a pair of Blue Flame Apistos. All came to me 100% healthy and absolutely stunning. The pleco especially is worth praising because often times when purchasing elsewhere, they are so skinny. But the pleco I received from Dan's had a nice full belly! The communication about my order was great. I made a special request with my order, and they were quick to acknowledge the request. They stated they would do their best to accommodate it, which they did and exceeded my expectations! The fish were packed EXTREMELY well. It was at least 90 degrees on delivery day, and they were delivered at the end of the day without any problems. A tracking number was provided and a signature was NOT required. I will be ordering from Dan's again!

I was kept notified without being inundated and having the status tracker on the site made it easy to follow my package without the annoyance of going to anowebsite (not a huge deal, but a nice cherry on top situation). Fish and shrimp arrived today and they all look as happy and healthy as can be expected before settling in. LOVE the bags they use. Not worried about fins getting caught in folded corners is huge (we accidentally cut the tail fins off a tetra once because of those corners and moving too fast). I’ll update as things change. 10/5

The Kuhli Loaches wriggled away into their driftwood paradise upon release hopefully to join the others! Can't wait to see all of them grow and blossom! These fish are some of the healthiest around.   • Comment: My Ctenopoma arrived in great condition. So did the baby vampire pleco but he hides so I never see him. Which is to be expected - I assume I’ll see him again in 6 months or so. The ctenopoma was pellet trained as advertised, though he loves live and frozen foods too, and has grown quickly. While shy at first he has really become a wonderful and vibrant addition to my tank, he’s quite friendly and inquisitive now. I named him Leopard Nimoy. He gets along with his tank mates, an electric blue acara and goyder river rainbows (all bigger than him). Loves to hide among the veg in my heavily planted tank.

  • Comment: I am bummed, one of my electric blue rams didn’t survive. I have put this review off for a week, because I had hoped to write all fish arrived healthy and thriving. The EBR that died didn’t seem okay from the start, was very thin and never really wanted to eat. I hatched some live baby brine shrimp to try to entice him, but it didn’t work. He lingered for a week and then died. The others are robust and growing, but this one didn’t seem healthy. With that said, I feel Dan is a reputable person and has a great selection of fish and I will definitely order again.

You all already know that no one ships better than Dan’s so I won’t beat that dead horse, but I can say that I’d rather pay the extra shipping cost and price per fish than save a few bucks and get lesser quality.
