  • Comment: Unfortunate, purple mosaic guppy (trio) got tattered tails and would not make the order, removed but it worked out fine with refund. Thank you for honesty Dan. Healthy on arrival; Chili Rasbora and the Golden Dwarf Barbs paired well, so far, seemingly happy together. Shrimp established quickly, molted day one! Most impressed with the delivery and health of these tiny nano fish in winterized shipment. The Golden Dwarf Barbs have great color after warming up to 78 degrees... more yellow iridescent flash than gold like the picture... Barbs certainly looking better in-tank. Overall, 5 star! Thank you Dan's Fish crew!

  • Comment: My puffer came in looking awesome! Plump, active and was hunting the snails that must have escaped my removal almost immediately after he was released. I was very impressed with the packing job as well. I opened the box up to find three bags of water, one with the puffer and the other two empty and labeled temp. All bags were nice and warm and heat pack still going strong. The puffer was nice and snug in between the two water only bags which I’m sure not only kept him warm but also kept jostling to the absolute minimum. I will definitely be using Dan’s fish next time I order anything online. Couldn’t have asked for anything better.

  • Comment: These are the cutest guys EVER! They live happily in a heavily planted community tank with rainbows and Corydoras. They hang out on the bottom and like to hide. They are not picky eaters at all. Mine happily vacuum up Xtreme Krill Flakes and Spirulina flakes as well as frozen foods. These aren’t in stock often, so jump on these when they are in stock. You won’t be sorry!

  • Comment: Received all the fish and they were all doing great. They look perky and happy. Best packing job I have seen and I have ordered fish by mail 50-80 plus times in the last year or so. Loved the heat packs taped to the top of the styrofoam box, great idea and it seems to really have kept all the fish warm. Even though we have snow all over the roads here the fish water was still around 70 degrees by the time I started acclimating them which is high in my experience. I also loved that each fish had its own individual bag, that is also great for many reasons. It also shows the high level of care you have for your fish which for me at least is the major differentiator between you guys and other stores. Just really awesome man, Loved the experience, love the fish, love that you have rare fish and I absolutely cannot wait to do more business with you guys. Just absolute super premium fish mongers. You will def be getting more orders from me. I have a big wish list of fish i am hoping come back in stock. You rule, thanks for being awesome!

  • Comment: The customer service on emails fantastic. Quick responses answered a lot of questions. The fish- eh. Ordered 3 species. The corys were spot on. The rainbows which where the entire reason I ordered from Dans are not anything like I expected. Really unhappy with the rainbows. While photos can often look a little different these fish are completely different. The garylangai I purchased is black and green/gold. I have seen tons of videos and pics from other where it’s more of a white fish with yellow stripes. They said they look darker in black substrate but this is way off. His head is black back to half of his body. The rest is a greenish tint with some gold stripes. He also came with what appeared to be a broken or damaged tail. He arrived alive of course, but a bent tail with what appeared to be red all around it. The Kali Kaibur is a harder fish to find information since it is newer. I had asked for photos prior to purchasing to get a better idea of what the fish looked like to make sure it’s what we wanted. This fish in photos appeared to be orange pink in color. After seeing the photo I ordered within a few minutes. I received a striped gray fish that has never showed any coloration. I have ordered from other places and while yes the juvenile coloring isn’t as bright as adult, it is still obvious that is the same fish. I had heard great thing about quality fish from Dans. Very disappointed in the online representation to what was actually received..especially since I asked about one of the fish before making a purchase. Not even sure if i actually got what I ordered. Others have had a great experience but we did not.

  • Comment: Another fabulous shipment from Dan's Fish! I've wanted some forktail blue eye rainbow fish for a few years now and I'm thrilled I was finally able to get some, think I need a few more! This order consisted of 9 phoenix rasboras and 6 forktail blue eyes, all were packed very well and in tip top shape on arrival. Once again I'm pleased as can be with the high standards that Dan's fish maintain and the quality of the fish. I haven't had any issues with my two orders, all fish from my first order are alive and thriving and I expect the same will be true for this order as well. I'll be ordering again in the near future, need more of those forktail blue eyes, just can't get enough of those beauties! I simply could not be MORE pleased with this order. I have never received guppies that were so seemingly unaffected by the shipping process. These fish came out of the bags with energy and vigor. They were zipping around looking for food and checking out plants instantly. That is the most reliable sign of a healthy fish and the intense amount of care given to them all the way up to the moment that box was taped shut. Thank you Dan’s fish, you have a customer for life.

  • Comment: My Black Paradise fish arrived as expected and was healthy and active. Was still warm in box with heating pack. He's exploring his tank; I hope he likes it. He's a very interesting fish. Doesn't appear to be spooked out in his new surroundings at all. If he grows a bunch more I'll bump him up to a 20 gal..but he's fine in a 10 for now. Overnight shipping is costly but I'd rather pay that than have to put the fish through days of stress.

Dan's Fish's excellent communication about shipping made the experience easy and stress-free. The SAEs are, in fact, True SAEs. They are beautiful and healthy, exceeding my expectations. The Garra are my new favorite. They are boisterous, lively, and fun to watch. Playfully chasing each other around all day, they're certain to be the star of the show. I have purchased fish online from other sellers before but the packaging and individually bagged fish from Dans Fish is as good as it gets. Highly recommend, especially if there are fish you can't find locally. Acclimation process was floated bags in the tanks for 15 mins then plop and drop. The pseudomugils have settled in great. I look forward to ordering again.

  • Comment: I have received past orders in fine condition. This most recent order was delayed in shipping by the carrier. Despite the excellent packaging used by Dan's Fish, the water in the bags was extremely cold and the heat packs exhausted. All the fish in the shipment had died. I suspect the package had been left in an unheated area by the carrier for a whole day. Dan was prompt in issuing a refund. I will continue to be confident purchasing from Dan's Fish.
