Comment: Just got my delivery today. The care that’s taken to ship these creatures is stunning. Needless to say everything arrived healthy. The fish themselves are incredible and bred beautifully. The statement “you get what you pay for” has never been more true. $10.00 less would have yielded me weakly bred fish at a minimum, a bag of DOA and struggling fish would be more like it. Comment: Celebes are looking and acting GREAT! Fantastic addition. The Peacock Gudgeon hid for the 1st 3 days, but appears to have paired up with my other Peacock and "nested" in a little cave inside one of the Dragon Stones. Only see them very rarely as I have them in a heavily planted 90 gallon community tank. Seem to come out when the light dims. Actually thought they had both perished. After about a month after delivery, all the Celebes and both of the Peacock Gudgeons died within a week. Since the water quality tested out perfect, I believe both species were not competing for food against many of the faster tetras in the tank. My 1st year with this 90 gallon nano fish community tank has been a real education.....

Comment: I recently received my order Ruaha mouthbrooders and black bellied limia. Every one looked to be in good condition. Best and most lively fish I have seen on arrival in my limited experience with shipped fish.They were a little thin from travel, and are still very shy and stressed (less than 48 hours after arrival). All of that seems to be normal and they are recovering. There are no signs of illness caused by this stress. They are regaining the weight and slowly becoming less shy. Thanks to Dan's crew for supply high quality fish. Well worth the price to get humanely treated fish. I expect to buy from Dan's in the future.

Comment: Great experience. I ordered 13 fish and all arrived alive and healthy. Unfortunately I did lose one of the fish I purchased, a platy, after 10 days--but this turned out to be a blessing in disguise, because I emailed Dan's Fish about the loss and included a photo, and they responded that the fish appeared to be infected with camallanus worms. They included a link to an Aquarium Co-Op post about how to treat my tank for the infestation. I followed the directions and saw ALL my fish perk up right away! I've been losing fish slowly, one here and two there, for months. My LFS was no help in diagnosing the problem, but Dan's Fish solved it with a photo and now my entire tank is much happier. I'm done shopping elsewhere for fish. Thank you!

Comment: Can't say enough good things about my order! Peacock eels and their cousins are my absolute favorite fish, but I have always felt wild caught is less than ideal, especially in terms of conservation, personality, and overall health/lifespan of any fish. When i had seen that dan's fish had access to aquarium bred and raised specimens I immediately added them to my wish list, and as soon as they were back in stock I knew i had to immediately order one! They came in perfect health and were very eager to explore their new home. After floating the bag for 20 minutes I released them into the tank and after hiding for a few minutes they explored and became comfortable very quickly. They have been eating very well and have been showing 0 signs of stress. I can't wait to order again for my other tanks! Thank you Dan for offering the best of the best and setting new standards for the aquarium hobby!

Comment: My first order convinced me to be a Dan’s Fish customer for life. I had bought cardinal tetras from 2 other vendors and had very poor outcome. Comment: You may be thinking, 6-8$ for a 0.5 inch fish. GTFO HERE! I haven't had the best luck with online orders. They usually arrive sickly and in p*ss yellow water. This isnt the case with Dan's Fish. It shows that the staff really love the fish and pride themselves in running an honest business. I bought 10 harlequin rasboras and 4 chili rasboras (to make up from fish that died within 1 week of buying). Each arrived in their own separate bag, heat sealed, water clear, these HRs were wild! while floating them in my tank (as instructed) these guys were ramming the bags trying to get out. They came very lively, didnt eat at first so figured they must gut pack them before shipping? They came in with great color as well! Very excited and will be ordering more fish soon! Just spend the extra money for love, quality, and healthy fish!

Comment: The fish looks amazing and healthy just received it today and it was packed perfectly, no leaks, all fish individually packed comfortable chilling in well secured box. The blue eyes and top blue strap is already stunningly shiny and colorful. The only disappointment I have is that I asked for 6 male and 4 female and out of 10 fish I only got 2 males. I am however giving it still 5 stars because the fish is sold unsexed so they didn’t have to do that for me. Will be buying again from this store for sure. Thank you!

Comment: I would give you a 10 rating if I could. Your fish always arrive alive, and after assimilation go right into the tank and swim around effortlessly. And your prices for next day air are HALF what I paid from another dealer, whose fish did not arrive the next day and some were dead. All but one passed in my tank shortly thereafter and there was no concern about reimbursement, just blame on me. So thanks!

Comment: One of the Habrosus I ordered did not make it. The carbon piece in was in was broken into pieces. Therefore, I can only think of 2 reasons, either the fish was crushed due to the inner bag being folded or the carbon piece was not functional and the fish died to its own poison. Rather sad that top of the line fish services is still not top of the line fish handling. The other fishes did well.

You guys really do care about the fish. I was also impressed that the Cardinal Tetras I ordered to accompany the veterans, already in the tank, were almost the same size. IMHO Dan's Fish takes the "hope you get lucky, and they all live" out of ordering fish online. I would recommend Dan's Fish to anyone looking to buy fish, period.

Comment: The packaging was amazing-- without getting into details, they understand what they are doing. Everyone arrived alive, though 2 of the 30 corys have been listing and a bit more somnalent than I would like to see. Hopefully they will come around with TLC. As for the fish themselves, the corys are lovely. If you are on the fence about the long finned C aeneas or C paleatus, don't be. I wasn't prepared to like them this much! Much nicer than other long finned that I have previously seen. The harlequins are robust and very high quality. The only "meh" fish was the male platinum red tailed dumbo eared guppy. His pectoral fins are more standard than "dumbo" and overall has quite a scrawny body compared to the one received in early September. He is not breeding quality-- pet quality only. The female of the pair is lovely. And the turquoise guppies are surprisingly nice, with even the females nicely colored.

Comment: The fish arrived ahead of promised schedule by an hour. The heat pack was still warm, and the fish were lively and healthy, ready for their new home. I am very impressed with the packaging. The fish have only been in my tank for about a week (today is 10/8/24), but, so far, so good. I can't say enough about the great customer service and the people I communicated with, from order to delivery, at Dans Fish.com. I am a very satisfied customer, and I look forward to doing business with Dans Fish again.

Comment: All of the fishes arrived alive, healthy, and energetic. However, I received a fish that I did not order for. I understand that this is not the company’s fault because the fish looked very similar to corydoras habrosus in its coloring, and they don’t even have any fish that looks similar to it. Still the fact that this happens is still very inconvenient to me since the shipping price is high and I paid premium prices to avoid situations like this in the first place. Not a strong first impression for me.

They look identical enough to fool predators, and us humans at times. Still, I think we owe you for this one. Comment: I received my order this morning of "Albino Red Vienna Cauliflower Swordtail". I was sent 3 females and 1 male, which was a great mix. Unfortunately I ordered Albino Red Vienna Cauliflower Swordtail and received hifi swordtails. These fish are a far reach from the fish pictured. These are definitely hifi's and not Cauliflower. The male is I guess what you would call a Cauliflower but leaves a lot to be desired. I sincerely thought you guys would do me right, but this order was a huge disappointment. The females are beautiful fish, just not what I paid for and the male was an obvious desperate attempt to just fill an order. This male should of been a cull as it doesn't do the breed justice and should never be bred. I was truthfully hoping to fill my fishroom with fish from Dan's because Cory speaks so highly of you guys.

Comment: Our order delivery was delayed a day by UPS and 2 of the Starry Shrimp were DOA. Some of the Amano's had molted, but I'm hopeful they will survive. The Panda Cory's are doing great. In a heavily planted 90 gallon tank it's difficult to see the new Amano & Starry Shrimp. It took about 6 weeks for the initial 4 Cherry Shrimp to settle in. Now there are literally dozens. I'm hoping the Starry Shrimp will have the same results....

Comment: The Forktails and CPD's were very small and I lost 8 of the 10 Forktails since delivery as well as half of the CPD's. The water quality is excellent but these guys never started eating. I'm going to take the chance of reordering the CPD's since I have had better luck with them in the past. I'll wait to see if the 2 remaining Forktails survive.... As of 10/1/24 only 1 of the Forktails has survived. As of 10/20/24 none of the Forktails have survived

Comment: I grew up in the pet business. As an adolescent, I have handled millions of fish at my family's pet stores back in the day. These Chili Rasboras arrived in fantastic condition, were well-packed and healthy, and were already eating minutes after being introduced into the aquarium. They were also a very nice size. Dan's Fish is an asset to the hobby!

Comment: Hello, Each of the fish arrived in individually double bagged. He says his prices are high given the care he places into sourcing, quarantining and shipping the fish ethically, but frankly, for his rarer, more expensive species, his prices seem fairly in line with market, at lease for the 8 cory pantanalensis I received. Fish are all doing great on day 5 so far. Oh ya, I love his fish room tours on youtube. PLEASE do them more frequently Dan! :)
