Comment: All the fish arrived alive. The 4 Blue Eyes immediately acclimated, but 3 of the 6 Hummingbird Tetras died within the 1st 24 hrs. They were very very tiny. Almost the size of fry. I think the shipping and transfer must have been too stressful..... P.S. 2 weeks after delivery all the Hummingbird Tetras died but the 4 Blue Eyes are doing great.

Comment: Ordered a Royal Acara and a Congo Spotted Puffer. Both fish arrived in great condition and have been doing well. The Royal Acara was a little shy at first but has warmed up to his tank. It is such beautiful fish. Regarding the Congo Spotted Puffer - I was nervous about getting a puffer since this is my first one but Dan's listing gave me a little more confidence knowing that they treat their puffers for parasites and make sure they're "plump" prior to selling. My puffer is very active, eating plenty bloodworms and hunting around the tank for snails.

Comment: Perfect! All these fish and shrimp arrived in perfect shape and are still thriving a week and a half later. Not a sign of any issues of any type. The Hovering Zebra loaches and Dwarf Chain loaches are so much fun to watch. My 7-year-old son especially loves them because they are so energetic and comical when in a feeding frenzy.

Comment: My first order from Dan's Fish, I was pleasantly surprised by the fast & efficient communication and the quick turnaround on shipping. I did unfortunately end up having a couple of issues -- the female Limia vittata out of the pair had a bit of a hard time in shipping, I'm guessing due to probably being pregnante, she did get hit with some ammonia poisoning. She seems to be slowly recovering and has dropped 2 rounds of babies, and I think honestly the harassment from the male is slowing her recovery so I need to separate them. One of my drape fin barbs also inexplicably took a bad turn after a couple of days, even though he seemed healthy at first. Unfortunately, he did not make it. I suspect that when he started struggling, he became the target of bullying and abuse from the dominant male in the group of 3 (I had planned to get more in a while) and that pushed him over the edge into a bad place. Despite my best efforts at separating and treating with salt, he never bounced back. I don't blame Dan's Fish for this as it was probably my own in-experience. I imagine if I had quarantined everyone in a saline solution tank for a coupe of days upon arrival, all the fish would probably have acclimated better with less stress. Looking forward to ordering from Dan's again.

Comment: The five Sumo Loaches I received arrived fat & sassy and are still thriving. I also ordered two Gastromyzon Lepidogaster. The listing shows the estimated shipping size as 1.5”-2.5” but they were at least 3” upon arrival (I did by chance find a video after the fact that showed their true size). Unfortunately, one of the two Lepidogaster ended up dying four days after receipt. It had a red sore on its mouth but otherwise looked healthier than the other, which is still thriving as of this review a 1.5 months later. Water temperatures were a bit warm upon arrival (82-83 degrees). Though this experience wasn’t the best, I still highly recommend Dan’s Fish and appreciate his weekly livestream!

Actually this is a 4 and a half star review. Two factors brought it down a little. Expensive fish and one fish has a wound from handling, I suppose. It is eating well and I think it will heal up just fine. Really the biggest plus for me is the fact at Dan's the fish are quarantined and treated for the common ailments for fish. So we decided why not look into this guys site and buy our dream center piece which was an electric blue acara, let me just say me and my wife were blown away at our new little acara who arrived in immaculate packaging and the fish wasn't even stressed out is was also very healthy! I ordered 5 Cardinal Tetra 3 Kuhli Loachs, and one L128 Blue Phantom Pleco. the Kuhli hit the tank and I have not seen them since they joined 2 other Kuhli Loachs that have been in this tank for 2+ years. I did lose 2 of the tetras though I am not sure how, I woke the next morning and I only had 3 in the tank. After 30+ years in the hobby I know fish die. the Phantom well he is tiny and a little shy though I have seen him a few times and he is Gorgeous. All in all I am very pleased about this order. I would highly recommend Dan's Fish. The upfront shipping date, the care in which the fish are packed, the no additional charges for hot or cool packs. completely confident and I know I will be making more orders in the future. The only thing is it would be great if the box could state live animals be careful or fragile for UPS because the guy was throwing the box around in his truck and I told him to please take it easy I have fish in there. Comment: I just received 3 more reticulated Hillstream loaches (6 total from here!),and they are all very decent size,and extremely healthy!! I also just received my beautiful (!!!) Blue Phantom Pleco!! It is absolutely beautiful and also extremely healthy!!!! It is a beautiful shade of blue. This is the 2nd time I have ordered from Dan's and you can believe that I will definitely order again!!!! All of my fish are very healthy and I am so excited to add them to my tanks! Comment: Superb service as always. I received plenty of notice from Dan’s Fish about when to expect my shipment. The animals arrived vivacious if a little scared. All 11 Super Blue Kerri Terras are coloring up and the 6 rummynoses are getting their Rudolph noses back. The fishes are healthy, chunky, and already begging for food. No fear from these hardy critters!

Comment: Unfortunately, I haven't had good fortune with Bolivian Rams or Killis. Only one of the 3 Rams survived their 1st week. Overall, in spite of pre-testing the water (perfect parameters) and a very tight cover, the survival rate hasn't been very good with the Killis either. The Rams seemed very stressed from the shipping. All my other purchases during the 1st 6 months have worked out very well with very few losses. I remain very positive with all the livestock I have purchased.
