  • Comment: Placed an order with DAN'S FISH for an L047 Pleco on a Tuesday night. The following day my fish shipped via Next Day Air. Fish arrived on schedule. Combined cost and shipping rate was FAR SUPERIOR to any other local or online dealer I have found. Product was packaged in a nifty little styrofoam box, which was encased within the shipping box. All excess space was filled with an additional sealed bag of water. This has been my first experience purchasing fish online in nearly two years, due to several horrible experiences with other dealers. The entire ordering experience was done as flawlessly as possible, with the least possible stress to the fish (and myself). This experience has restored my faith in shopping outside of my LFS. I highly recommend this dealer! -Alex

  • Comment: Most of the fish came in strong fat and healthy like usual. A few of the licorice gourami’s where rather stressed. Placed them in a quarantine with some other grow out fish with lots of cover. Unfortunately a few didn’t make the transition. Will continue to strengthen the remaining survivors before moving them to a more permanent home. Update: Dan stands behind his word and product. Although the licorice gourami species did not do well in my environment he provided superb customer service through the process. Truly the best.

A weather event and general UPS shenanigans prevented the order from arriving exactly as planned, and this panicky fishkeeper reached out to Dan who very kindly provided emotional support and explained that the fish were packed with plenty of wiggle room in the shipping window. The box was 77 degrees F. upon receipt later in the day when the package magically appeared on my doorstep, and all of the fish are healthy, happy and eating well! The P. luminatus are even more beautiful than the pictures. Dan has shipping down to a science! I will not hesitate to purchase again.

  • Comment: Beautifully packed, healthy fish. They are all readily accepting a variety of prepared and frozen foods. I expected some skittishness when walking past my quarantine tanks, but they are more interested in informing me that it is always dinner time. The Red Beckfordi pencilfish are a pleasant surprise! They color up every time food is added to the tank, and their displays are impressive and peaceful. Lots of personality packed in a compact body. My next order has already been made. Knowing the fish have been quarantined by Dan and medicated when necessary helps me feel confident that I will succeed with new to me species. And the Customer Service cannot be beat.

  • Comment: It has been about 2 weeks. My order arrived at 10 am, handed to me by the postal worker. It was 90 degrees already. The box was HOT, but the temp inside the box measured 76.5. My order was 2 hill trout and 3 Denson barb. Each fish was bagged individually. All are in good shape. I place them in my 125 gal lightly planted “barb” tank. All are getting along well. The tank is mostly barbs, tiger, glow, rosy, etc. The hill trout are almost as big as my fully grown Denson barbs, maybe an inch smaller. I would have to say get some hill trout, They look good in the tank and have eaten everything I give them. And the Denson barbs are great. I only wish I would have had the 125 gal when the Dan had the golden Denson barbs. The video is less then 1 min. Check out my happy fish.

  • Comment: WOW! These Lame rice fish I ordered from Dan’s Fish Room were packed like precious jewels! Individually bagged... twice!? Every fish was in great condition. They are healthy and happy. The heat pack was warm and UPS was great too. They are so adorable and sparkly! Especially from top view, which is perfect because I’m putting them outside with my Lotus plants. Tank view is nice too. Sweet blue eyes and a light orange and speckled. The orange makes the lame look blue. Dan, I’m now a loyal customer! I actually received the package less than 24 hrs. after receiving the shipping confirmation! And most importantly my new wet pet (who is still yet to be named) is the cutest little fish I've ever seen. I'm super happy with my purchase! I wish the fish were less costly so I can’t honestly give a rating if 5 . However understanding the time and effort he places in his delivery process I guess you pay for what you get.   • Comment: I ordered 2 Red Back (Amapa) Angelfish: they arrived safe and warm up here at 4000 feet above sea level. They are a good size for babies at about 2 1/2" inches or larger. They settled in right away and are used to people. They are a beautiful muted brown and body blush to a deep burnt orange with blue in the feeler fins already. It will be fun to watch them grow. This was my first experience in having fish shipped to me and I was worried about the fish since delivery was delayed, but was happy when I opened the package and they were all alive.
