Living in New England, shipping can sometimes be dicey in the colder months, so I highly recommend the UPS overnight. This latest order of Red Lizard Whiptail Catfish arrived the next day and in great shape. I highly recommend Dan's fish.

  • Comment: My 1st order from Dan was totally positive. I ordered 6 varieties of Rainbows totaling 35 fish. They had a long journey to S. Florida and all arrived looking great and very active. Packaging was awesome with each individual Rainbow in its own bag. I took a sample temp of the bags and was right at 80, perfect. Most important is that Dan will send you top quality stock and if in his final inspection before shipment any specimen is questionable he will not ship what is questionable. Nothing is perfect all the time but this is a close as you can get, rest assured Dan stands behind his stock. Knowing Provenance of stock is a big plus especially with Rainbows.

  • Comment: This was my first time buying from Dan's Fish, and buying fish online. I had an excellent experience (ordered golden white clouds and sterbai cories). I was really impressed to see each individual fish bagged separately. This made it easier to get a close look upon arrival, then acclimate and get them in their qt tank. They are eating well and all look very healthy. I mainly keep larger species like cichlids, so these little guys definitely up the cuteness factor in the fishroom. I'll definitely be back for more fish!

  • Comment: It's been 8 days since my order from Dan's Fish arrived, so I suppose that's enough time to grade this A+ 5-star experience. I ordered 10 fish: 2 Electric Blue Acara and 8 Botia histrionica, and all arrived alive and well at 10 am the morning after they were shipped; all 10 fish were individually bagged, and none were showing any signs of problems. I think Dan tried to pick me out a pair of Acara, as one is noticeably larger than the other, but only time will tell there--beautiful blues though, my first time trying this fish. I hadn't kept loaches in years and the histrionica are so much fun that I'm considering a new tank for another breed. Of the 8 I've only managed to count 7 at any one time, so hopefully one is just always hiding (and hopefully a different one every time!) but I do have quite a bit of rock, driftwood, and plants in their tank, so I think that's a reasonable hope. All in all, I'm thrilled with the fish, the experience, and excited to watch these babies grow up. I plan to return the next time I find the tank space ... which hopefully will involve a new tank or two in the basement! Very healthy and handsome fish. Thanks again, Dan!

  • Comment: Honestly between my two orders I’ve never been more impressed by fish shipment and attention to detail. I don’t have a real fish store and Dans Fish has allowed me to get fish happy, healthy, and sassy. From accommodating my request for a trio of teacup platies to the individual bagged rummynose rasboras, which were my dream fish. Most similar fish are normally bagged in one bagged and arrive stressed and have beaten each other up. I honestly don’t think there’s a better online seller I’ve dealt with.
