  • Comment: I wish I could post photos! My purchase was a major success, my only regret is not getting more Sulawesi starry nights! I ordered celestial danios to increase my school, orange and black Venezuelan Cory’s (they are the cutest goofballs and I love them) And Sulawesi starry nights. They arrived in great shape and adjusted perfectly. I did lose 1 Sulawesi within 48 hrs, but I’m unclear why, because the other 3 are doing great and I belive one already molted at day 3. I’m already thinking about ordering more Sulawesi’s! I couldn’t be happier with this seller, he also worked with me on shipment days to accommodate my wacky nurse schedule. I plan on purchasing from this seller in the future for my Cory’s, as my lfs I believe they just aren’t as healthy. My crew is happy and eating well, and my Venezuelans get along great with my pandas. A very happy customer here.. but grieving the early loss of one of my starry nights 💔 tho I do not blame this on the seller by any means, maybe just a fluke. The others are happy and adjusted.

  • Comment: They’re thriving! I received a 50/50 ratio of males and females, they’re growing and breeding and just doing great. I love watching them, they constantly pick at biofilm and algae, they do twisty headstands all the time cleaning up the substrate. Everyone says they do better outside, maybe that’s true, I don’t know, but my medaka are doing great inside.

  • Comment: I ordered 2 types of guppies and some platys. Some of the turquoise guppies had clamped fins and were not swimming well. I notified Dan's Fish and sent some pictures. I got a response 1 hour and 45 minutes later stating they had noticed some guppies with clamped fins and the guppies were subsequently diagnosed by their vet with tapeworm. I was told what medication they were using and fortunately, I had some on hand. I am sad some of the fish arrived ill - I had hoped for better. I am very happy that I got a quick response from Dan's Fish giving me a diagnosis and treatment - I think this is fantastic and likely unusual in the aquarium trade. The healthy fish look good. The fish arrived on time and well packed. All the fish are in a quarantine tank and I am treating them with ParaCleanse and salt.

Sometimes, fish just don't show any obvious signs of a problem...even when they are examined in the lab before being listed for sale. I hope the treatment goes smoothly.   • Comment: The Apistos came in very healthy and colored up immediately after acclimating and placing them in the tank. 2 of the 10 hummingbird tetras were doa and another passed after acclimating. I love how the hummingbird tetras swim it’s mesmerizing. I ordered more because I’d like the effect of a 15+ school.

  • Comment: I was stunned when first introduced to this website. The Lancaster fish Club ordered together paying the shipping for those of us who bought. When I got my fish, I was amazed at their little "hotel rooms" and, that each were still alive in their little "rooms" after several days! Every one of them are alive to this day as far as I know. In preparation for another order, I did a water change and filter change, There was no dead fish muck in this filter!! Just some plant fragments for sure. I believe what I bought has doubled in size in the past 5-6 months. I put in an order recently that is coming tomorrow:) No fear or trepidation within me now. I finally have healthy fish and a healthy tank and the money spent is worth every penny. Dan's fish are clearly healthy, and he knows what he is doing in order to get them this healthy! (I am so sad for the fish sold in places like Pet-smart.) Now to buy some plants from Dan's affiliate! I have no fear about this now either! You run a Healthy & Wonderful Business Dan!

  • Comment: So happy....finally I have a healthy ALIVE school of Chili Rasboras. After a few attempts where they arrived either dead or died the next few days, I decided to try Dan's Fish. The Chili's were more expensive, but I would have saved money in the long run by going here first. I think the single fish packages are a real help for sensitive fish like these arriving in good shape. I also got some orange shrimp. All arrived alive and are doing well. The color could have been better on some but there's enough of good color to enjoy watching.

The male is amazing. These gold shoulder apistogramma... usually the pictures represent the best colored fish in the best lighting. Either he sent me the stud in the photo or they all exhibit beautiful color. Even the female is strikingly colored.

I am more than happy to pay for overnight delivery for fish that are healthy and have been treated well. The care that goes in to Dan’s fish are important to me and make it worth ordering and not going to local pet stores. And even though it’s hard to wait after an order is placed, it’s great that they quarantine your order to make sure they’re healthy before shipping

The staff is amazing, allowing me to request a specific Blue Angel that has the Smokey look, that I saw in a recent video. My angel is currently quarantining with a Arulius Barb juvenile whose parents also came from Dan’s Fish. The extra cost is worth every penny.

They were breeding in less than three weeks of receiving them. They are truly stunning in an aquarium with a black background, with blazing white color that really pops. I'm not sure why this fish is more common in the hobby.

  • Comment: Overall, the fish arrived alive and well, except for one little ember tetra that had an eye deformity and some body discoloration—not a disease from my experience as a fishkeeper, just deformities. Jonny addressed this promptly, as he always does; Jonny is awesome. Other than that one little ember tetra, all the other fish, including a bunch of pygmy corys, are perfect!

  • Comment: I’m very disappointed with the shipping and customer service I’ve received so far. My fish arrived alive but in bad shape. I don’t expect them to survive. They clearly went through hell in the shipping process, and unfortunately Dan’s Fish bears a lot of that responsibility. Per UPS: “All shipments of live animals must be clearly marked on opposing sides of the carton in bold block lettering a minimum of one inch in height stating: LIVE ANIMALS. The term animal may be replaced with the name of the specific live animal contained in the package.” The box had no such label. It is fairly obvious why the labeling is important. Boxes with live animals are handled differently than, for example, screwdrivers. We’ve all seen UPS drivers throwing boxes. The same goes on at the sorting facilities. Imagine 20 small, delicate fish in those boxes. Additionally, the delivery was delayed due to weather, which I understand is outside of Dans Fish’s control but when I asked Dan’s customer service if I would receive a refund for the $50 I paid in next day shipping (because this is guaranteed by UPS and refundable), I received a dry, unapologetic “We don't refund shipping on delays.” Additionally, I placed my order last week Wednesday and Dan’s Fish did not ship until the following Monday. Due to the shipping issues, I did not receive the fish until the following Wednesday (a week later). Timing matters for introducing fish and a speedier packaging may have very well avoided the inclement weather. For $250+ I expect more and you should too. I cannot recommend Dans Fish. Update: every single one of the 10 sparkling gouramis are either dead or dying. The ones that are alive are unable to lift themselves off the substrate and are lying there awaiting death. Half of the rainbow fish appear okay but the other half (5) are in a similar position. Out of 20 fish, 5 made it. Heartbreaking

It’s been a few days now and I’m very pleased, the five wild caught Black Paradise fish are doing great and eat whatever I offer!!
