Comment: Ordered 5 bumblebee golby and 5 platinum half halfbeak fish. All the fish arrived alive but raggedy. All but one of the halfbeaks have no tailfin at all. Had a golby die the next day due to no fins and was bullied by the others. So far every one else is doing great , eating bloodworms and flakes right away and starting to heal. Out of the 10 I've received 9 are still doing amazingly well the last 5 days. Bumblebee gobys being wild caught where in much better condition then the aquarium raised halfbeaks for the 3 stars. Will buy more from Dan's fish again.

Comment: This was my first order from Dan's Fish. I'd seen/read many positive reviews and decided to give them a try. I ordered 53 fish in total and all look healthy and are thriving. They let me know the estimated day for shipping and I received them the following day. Comment: Good morning. Just sharing that I just received my second order ever of fish from you. All 10 fish arrived alive and well. The 23 fish from my first order shipped on 6/24 also arrived alive and and are doing well. I am so happy with your shipping and packing. Worth every penny. When they arrive they aren’t bouncing around wildly in the bag. Very little fish poop if any in the bags. Just the perfect amount of water in each individual bag. And the care of the placement of the bags in the box is evident. I am nearing 60 years of age and have had no more than one tank since i was in my teens. About 3 years ago I converted to a dirted substrate and heavily planted tank and have never enjoyed the hobby or had as much success with plants and fish as I do now. I look forward to staying with you as a customer and as a subscriber to your YouTube channel. Hope you receive many more likes and reviews like this one.

Comment: This was my first time ordering fish online. Was extremely impressed with shipping process, packaging of fish and overall health of fish (I’m not sure I’ve ever seen such chonky leopard cory fish😂) One of the hillstream loaches was doa, and I promptly received a refund. I had one Pygmy Cory that quickly went down hill and died a few days later, and they refunded that one as well. It’s been several weeks now and all of the other fish ordered have thrived. Comment: I'm blown away on how badly the Hi-fin Wag Swordtails are banged up. The females look like their fins are burned-- they are shredded and missing areas. The male is barely swimming; I will be amazed if the male survives the first 24 hours. The Sultan Pleco seems to be have fared much better and is doing fine.

I had been dealing with another fish place and got ich covered cpd's with almost no tail or fins left. all 5 died during drip acclimation and setting up a quarantine tank, the place Said they were healthy when they packed them and asked for pictures of dead fish. I didn't want more fish from that place and to lie like that I just won't do business with them anymore. dans fish arrived happy and healthy and already colored up, I used to have to wait weeks for fish from the other place to acclimate. I love dans fish and they will have all my future business.great packaging and healthy fish. they are doing it right. UPDATE 1 WEEK LATER...I still can't believe the difference. I have been dealing with other online fish retailers and have always received juvenile fish, so young and unhealthy that I couldn't tell the difference between cpd's and dwarf emerald rasboras. always arrived with at least one dead and half eaten most diseased and malnourished. it would always take weeks for them to open their fins and color up(if they lived that long).dans fish arrived fully colored and zesty. I added 3 dwarf emerald rasboras to my existing 5 and my existing five always stayed hidden in the plants or behind the bubble wall, the new guys are much more active and not as shy, they come out to eat. I also added 4 cpd's to my existing 2 and all are out swimming about. one of the new ones, I know because he is smaller, has become the dominant male already. he is beautiful with dark coloring, bright spots and wide open fins and tail with deep orange and black and orange underside. I will never buy online from anyone else but dan. I am so happy I found them, I just wish I had sooner. I've wasted a lot of time and money on sick baby fish and shrimp and put my existing stock at risk introducing these sub par fish into my tanks. thank you dan you are doing it right, I wish I could tell all online fish buyers to stop messing around with other places and deal with you only.

Comment: I wanted to wait at least 72 hours after I received the order before I reviewed the fish I ordered from Dan's Fish. I've been in the hobby since 1988 (36 years) and this is the first time I ordered live fish in the mail. The two Female Blue Kribs I ordered are doing fine now. I took the order directly from the hands of the UPS delivery driver and immediately began the acclimation process. They took about a day to settle in and start eating. One female is more aggressive than the other one was so I had to split them up on the second day because she was constantly bullying the other one. I couldn't find any Super Red females locally for the two male Super Reds I have so I am going to pair the Blue Females with the Super Red males and see what kind of offspring I get from the mix. I would recommend your company to any other first time mail order customers and I will probably be a return customer in the future. Thanks again, J.T.

Comment: I ordered 5 panda garra and two rainbow fish. All of them arrived in good health. Unfortunately two of my panda garra disappeared on day three. There is absolutely no trace of them. Panda garra are known escape artist and even though I thought I had sealed the exits, they may have squeezed out a small exit in the cover where the air hose enters. If that happened my cats may have found them before I did. I don't think that's the seller's fault, just really really seal things up with new young panda garra. All the remaining fish have settled in well.

Comment: Quality control slipped on this order. Of the 4 Dwarf Chain Loaches, 3 arrived perfect, and the other one was nearly as thin as a sheet of paper. It arrived alive, but shouldn't have been shipped out. It hung on for a few days, but died within a week. Disappointing for a $15 fish, but in the stand-up fashion of Dan's Fish, who always take care of their customers, I received a full refund for the cost of that fish and its shipping. Three weeks after receipt, the surviving 3 fish are doing great and have been united with 3 Dwarf Chain Loaches from a prior order. They are a fun, goofy, little group of 6 fish.

Comment: This will be an atypical review. Dan's Fish definitely earned a 5-star review, but some of the fish received did not. The Peacock Gudgeons and Ember Tetras in this order were and continue to be perfect. No deaths and happy, healthy, fun little fishes. In the same shipment, but listed as a different order, the Hovering Zebra Loaches and Dwarf Chain Loaches were and continue to be equally perfect. But the Green Neon Tetras in this order were not perfect. Of 20 ordered and received (apparently in perfect shape), within a week or two, 11 of 20 had died (8 within the first 2-3 days of receipt). I don't know why. They looked great upon receipt, and all the fish in this shipment went in the same, cycled, planted tank. Every other species is thriving. There has been 0 ammonia and 0 nitrate in this tank the whole time; and upon receipt, the shipping water had 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, and 0 nitrate -- and temperature was great, 75-78 F. I don't blame Dan's for the deaths of the Green Neons in any way. And their service was, always, fantastic. I was refunded for the fish that died within the first few days plus the associated shipping costs, despite these fish arriving alive and looking good. The surviving 9 green neons have done great and appear to be thriving. They are absolutely gorgeous in a planted tank with dark substrate and background. Dan's Fish stands behind the fish they sell! I will continue to order fish from Dan's. I love what they are doing -- in every way. I am a fan, with no hesitations about ordering from them again. But I won't be buying Green Neon Tetras from them or anyone any time soon. Maybe this species is just too sensitive for me. And really, why bother? Cardinal Tetras was more beautiful and, apparently, less sensitive, at least based on my experience (with fantastic Cardinals from Dan's). Though the fact that Green Neon tetras stay smaller and thus are more practical for a small aquarium is a point in their favor.

The blue flame Apistogramma male colored up almost the moment I let him loose in the tank with iridescent blue body and a tail that truly does look like flames. The female immediately started exploring and her color is a sparkling gold. Both fish are unstressed and interested in their surroundings. We are delighted!

Comment: I ordered 10 juvenile chili rasboras. Delivered when expected and the fish were so well packaged. They didn't appear to be overly stressed and looked healthy despite the journey. They were drip acclimated over half a day and went in the tank that night. All 10 are happily swimming and already coloring up. They are just LOVELY and certainly my new favorite species! Comment: I received my order of Apisto macmasteri 'Gold Red Shoulder', Trio (1M2F) today. The fish were packed securely in a perfectly sized box for my order. The fish were acclimated for 20 minutes as recommended. Once placed in their new home they were very active. My male Endlers found them interesting and were following them around the tank so I turned off the light to let them get settled in peace. That problem had been resolved when I turned the light back on. The fish appear to be very healthy and I look forward to watching them grow. The is my 2nd order from Dan's Fish. Comment: 5-stars, I love buying from Dan's Fish, there's virtually no need to quarantine at all and the fish are usually very healthy. However... one of my 4 gobies I ordered just died, prompting me to leave this review. It is less than 2 weeks from arrival, and all four of the gobies seemed healthy at first, and I can see no signs of specific illness on this one except that it seemed very lethargic last night. Got home from work and it was belly up. This is the first time I've ever had a fish die that quickly after purchase, even from LFS. Perhaps some quirk of the goby, Idk. Regardless, I still recommend buying from these guys, they're a quality outfit and you can trust what you're getting... 98% of the time ;)
