If Dan's has what you want, it is worth getting from them: their shipping is reasonable and reliable, and their fish just seem healthier and stronger than most others I've tried.   • Comment: Second time to order and another 100% satisfied customer. The Dimond head neon tetras were all small, young, but not terribly colorful. Only around the head, but still brightened up the tank. I assumed as they got older the colors would come out. Much to my surprise when I got home this morning they are already getting more colorful. Thank you Dan and people.

  • Comment: Order went quite well, The fish I recieved for the most part came in healthy, however 2 of the guppies i ordered did not make it. It seems more due to transit than anything. Although 1 of them was severely emaciated. Could've given birth right before being shipped. Aside from that though, the fish that came in after being acclimated were doing fantastic an hour after being let out. They all started to eat immediately. Definitely a great order with that small exception

I understand there are going to be variations in the quality of guppy however my Red Dragon female guppy has no Red. She is beautiful and healthy but not "Red Dragon" I do not feel this is representative of the pair I purchased. Maybe she still needs time to color up?

When I received the culture the label said 1/2 cup {it was a condiment cup...not a measuring cup.} If I knew the size I would have waited or chose a different size. I was not happy with the small amount I received. In the description I would ask that the amount is indicated to avoid confusion. I checked the description again to see if I missed a full cup option....

Gave them a day to settle in and the guppies have all colored up and the bumblebees are scooting all around the tank. Now my kitchen counter tank is alive with beautiful color and activity. I got 10 Amapa Tetras and 6 of Rick's Weitzmani Two Saddle Cory's specifically to put in a 40 gallon tank with my Alabama Map Turtle to help clean up after him. Turtles are messy eaters. Its been a few weeks and everyone is doing great. The Corys swim all around the turtle while he's eating, everyone gets along great! Thanks again to Dan and Crew. Healthy fish humanely cared for and shipped. If I could just talk the wife into a Fish Room!

  • Comment: My first time ordering from here. I always follow the suppliers directions for acclimation and this was my 1st Pleco. I watched a Steenfolt tour with Dan and fell in love with the Snow White L144. The pleco was packed really well and temp was good… seems healthy and lively. I like Dan’s logic of ensuring healthy fish before selling. Reminds me of my Betta fish supplier.. I feel it’s worth it to pay extra $ for the peace of mind and trust me for I have went the cheap route and it was more expensive in the long run! So far this lil fish is exploring the books and cranny’s of my 125 heavily planted community tank. Looking great thank you for all you do Dan to protect and support us Newbies and fish and making a difference

  • Comment: The Orange Venezuelan cories arrived healthy and are doing great in my tank a week later. Cute little guys are going everywhere and not concerned with bigger fish. The Florida Flagfish arrived healthy but looked like they were shocked when released in the tank and I thought I’d lose them all. After 15-20 min, they were looking better and a week later all are doing fine. I floated them for 30 min, but the day they arrived was the hottest we’ve had this year and their water was warm. I’d suggest being very careful in acclimating them.

I had one issue where two of my fish were sent incorrectly. Their response was lightning fast and they knew the error right away. They offered me a refund or to reship the correct fish at their cost. I chose the fish and they also arrived very healthy. I've given it several days since they have been introduced into my tanks and everyone is still healthy and thriving. I absolutely look forward to doing business again in the future knowing that Dan's Fish has my back.

Peacock gudgeons were swapped for a pair of Apistogramma panduro because the vet found parasites in the gudgeons before shipment. I really appreciated the honesty of Dan's Fish and I hope the gudgeons feel better soon :) The Ricefish and Apistos arrived in great shape and are doing well! I will definitely order from Dan's Fish again in the future!

I was concerned at first as the water the cory's were in was very cloudy however after releasing them into the aquarium, within 10 minutes they clustered together and then were exploring as a group. These Napoensis cats are stunning with 3 of the males having gold highlights on head/gill plates. The cardinal tetras are the healthiest I have ever had. Great experience yet again!!!

I had asked my mom to stay home and watch out for this delivery because I have work- these not only arrived at 9am but the packaging was some of the best I’ve experienced with buying fish online (I start work at 10 so I was excited to unpack them and I wasn’t disappointed).   • Comment: As a testament to the health of these fish, they arrived 24 hours late and were not only all looking good in the shipping bags, but had fully acclimated to the tank (a blackwater set-up) and taken food by the evening they arrived. I am thrilled with the condition of the fish- the Colletti tetras in particular are very close schoolers and add a lot of interesting movement and color to my tank. I'm super satisfied with my purchase!

  • Comment: First time receiving shipped fish. Three Pygmy Corys. One was lively and took off. The other two dropped straight to the bottom…one upright and one on its side. They didn’t move for a couple of hours till my mystery snail bumped them…then they struggled into the safety of the plants. Doesn’t look good. Have a high regard for Dans Fish based on reviews but is this normal? I know they guarantee live delivery but do they guarantee healthy delivery? My six month old tank is fully cycled, heavily planted and checks out AOK with both API kits. It’s a wait and see. If the weaker two don’t make it, do I just write it off?

  • Comment: While researching fish for my aquarium I stumbled across Dan’s site and was intrigued by the dwarf red tail eels. They were so beautiful and adorable. A deadly combination. Upon seeing the videos he has shared of them on YouTube I immediately fell in love with them and knew I had to order some so I could enjoy their playful antics. I ordered 3 of these cuties as well as one of the Red Lizard Whiptail Catfish. Such a cool addition to the tank. They all arrived happy and healthy and are doing great in my tank. Enjoying watching them so much. Don’t hesitate about purchasing from Dan. They know exactly what they’re doing and it’s worth paying extra for happy and healthy animals. You’ll end up with some amazing new friends that will make it worth it. Can’t wait to place my next order.

I would have personally liked to see a LITTLE bit of padding aside from the water-packs but overall the packaging was on point as expected. Thanks Professor Dan!

They also do all the deworming as part of the quarantine process! I received my awesome little puffers today and they were individually bagged, healthly, packaged in a little cooler even! The puffers are adorable and all of them are darting around the tank like they own the place! LOL! I would absolutely recommend them and would buy from them in the future! THANK YOU DANS!

  • Comment: Dan is the real deal! Shipping was absolutely perfect and so are the fish. The shipping bags were so clean, that it almost looked like they were in a sterile environment. I've been in this hobby, since the age of 5 (now 53) and have been hard pressed for years to find healthy guppies. I've even puchased from an "award winning" guppy breeder in Sebring Florida and was not happy with the quality of fish that were sent to me. Dan's guppies are Very robust full-bodied, extremely healthy fish. And the female has already given birth. So, happy that I found Dan. What he is doing for the hobby is incredible. And he actually has an in house Veterinarian, which is unheard of in the retail fish hobby. Almost forgot to mention the Otocinclus. They have to be the healthiest and most active Oto's that I've ever purchased.

  • Comment: I bought a pair of the dumbo redtail guppy and four otocinlus (just to fill box because of shipping). The female guppy died 5 days after arrival. I was in communication and even send video to show the guppy not doing well before they died. The male died the next day. DF did not refund until more than ONE WEEK later. In addition, they only refunded for the cost of the guppy pair. They DID NOT refund the shipping. Apparently, they only refund the shipping cost if there was delay with shipping. This was surprising to me because it different from what I hear from the livestream. Buying guppy here is not worth it because the risk is the same as anywhere else except the shipping is expensive. In the end, it cost me $64 for four otocinus. I am only sharing my experience on the guppy. The otocinlus are great. I have no other experience buying other type of fishes.
