  • Comment: I ordered Green Snakeskin guppies and Koi Snakeskin guppies on Nov 5th, they were shipped on the 8th and all of them arrived safely on the 9th with a warm heat pack. The morning of the 10th, the Kois already had about a dozen fry swimming around in their quarantine tank (I'm sure there would have been even more if I had put additional hiding spots in). Overall, I am very pleased with my order, and I've added several other guppy strains to my wishlist for the future. :)

I was very happy with the packaging, inserted warmer was still warm. I was thrilled with each of my fish as I took them out. I was especially excited to see 1 female guppy had some fry with her! Temperature acclimated for about 20 mins and carefully placed them in a well established, fully planted and maintained 55 gallon aquarium. They immediately seemed to really like their new home. Two out of five white clouds were DOA but Dans refunded me within an hour or two. They packed each fish really well - double bagged, sturdy plastic, no corners, and individually. Probably saved the other three white clouds from ammonia by having them bagged individually. Would definitely order again

  • Comment: I can’t say enough good things about Dan’s fish! My LFS rarely gets anything new and as there’s so many options in this hobby-why limit yourself to what the local guys sell? I’ve now used Dan’s fish several times and the fish have been happy and healthy every single time. They never disappoint with the rare/super cool fish.   • Comment: I asked to cancel part of the order and it was very quick response including the refund. The fish looked great, the gudgeon was making there presence known as soon as I opened the box. Good amount of scuds per pack. Definitely only need 1 is starting a culture, ordered 2 because of other places lame scuds amount. Always a great experience with Dan's Fish, except I need a Dan's Fish sticker for my buckets.

Let me tell you that I’ve ordered from dans fish a few times and rarely have issues because they overnighted them!   • Comment: Only one DOA out of ten. Other 9 are doing well and ate dry flakes immediately after being acclimated into their new tank. Unique look, transparent with a gold/bronze iridescence patch on flanks and red on upper tail tip. Very active. I think they will become one of my favorites for nano tanks 10g to 20g in size.

  • Comment: The Red Neon Blue Eye Rainbow fish and the Neocardinia Blue Dream shrimp arrived healthy and happy! There were even a couple of extra shrimp added in there! Score! They were packaged wonderfully with only one fish per bag and empty bags of water marked “temperature” so the fish bags wouldn’t slide around in transit. The only hiccup was that the UPS driver left the box in the sun rather than wait for a signature as I was late racing home from work. The temperature of the water was 87 (yikes!!!) by the time I got there, but it’s been 24 hours and all seems well. I’m crossing my fingers that the shrimp don’t molt prematurely because dramatic temperature change, but all in all I am a happy camper.

One type of fish that I ordered became unavailable later on so a gentleman named Jonny contacted me with a completely reasonable explanation and a perfectly suitable substitution at no greater cost to me. All the fish arrived on time and in perfect health. The Apistogramma Trifasciata I ordered are wonderful and follow me around the perimeter of the tank, never begging, just observing me. I will order from Dan's Fish again because they have species that you can't get just anywhere and the quality is exceptional. Thank you!

  • Comment: First ever online order of live fish, very positive experience. Corys arrived in perfect condition. One thing, the first picture of the Elegant Cory is a little misleading. They are the plainer ones in the additional pics not the spotted ones. Still beautiful fish with a thin gold stripe on their backs, wide black banded side, and iridescent green highlights on their cheeks. I think being wild caught makes them a little more skittish than tank raised but after a couple weeks they are settling in just fine. Fascinating fish, I just ordered 5 more.

  • Comment: I cannot think of a way Dan's fish could do better with their shipping. Styrofoam lined box, a heat pack secured to the lid and each fish individually double bagged.... I mean wow! Nailed it guys and gals! All fish arrived energetic, a perfect 75 degrees in the box, no sign of shipping trauma at all! Thank you thank you thank you for the quality!

  • Comment: In my previous review I stated that I had some problems with an individual or two. I now believe that a hydra outbreak caused for the individual I lost to be outcompeted for food. Furthermore they displayed a certain discomfort with the sand that was covered in hydra. Upon moving them to a clean quarantine tank the are settling down on the clean sand and showing obvious improvement and comfort. Thank you guys for the concern! I have to assume responsibility on this one even though it was nice to know you were willing to replace. 💛 I wanted to add for the curious to get your hands on these! When they settle in they have a great orange/gold color! Fabulous color!

  • Comment: All fish arrived on time and alive, but the Platinum Rummynose Tetras have some kind of issue... lost one from the previous order and Dan's sent a replacement with this order (9 total). Lost the replacement plus 3 more within 48 hours. They showed no signs of infection or disease, just died. Contacted Dan's and they offered to refund for the lost fish since they also were having issues with this batch of Rummynose. The only other thing was that the bags of fish were cold upon arrival due to the changing seasons. It may be too early for heat packs, but better than cold fish I think. Overall very satisfied with the great customer service and quick responses from Dan's! Still a great company with quality fish and extremely high standards! Thank you!!

Seller Reply: Hello Joshuaj21, Sorry to hear we failed with these tetras. I'm usually good at making the right heat pack combos to keep the fish cozy, but it looks like I goofed on this one. These are one of our cornerstone species, and we usually do very well with them. Seems this batch is having issues during shipping, but that is rare...I can't remember the last time we had significant problems on a batch level. If you want to try again when we get a new batch in, I'll send you a free group. -Dan

  • Comment: Every invert arrived healthy and active. The three horned nerites got right to work, and the amano shrimp haven't skipped a beat, either. This is my third order from Dan's and like the first one it went off without a hitch. A week after shipment I still have 100% survival and happy looking fish.
