Ordered an Electric Blue Jack Dempsey, as they are difficult to find in my area and very expensive so I did my research before choosing where I was ordering from. It showed up well packaged, happy, and alive! When I unboxed it, I could not believe how stunning it looked. The pictures on the site don’t do it justice. The journey to Charlotte NC was a long and stressful one I’m sure, but the fish looks healthy and happy! Thank you Dan for such a wonderful experience. Will definitely be a repeat customer!

  • Comment: Although not all the fish in this order arrived alive, it has nothing to do with Dan’s fish. The order was delayed due to weather, they were able to be taken back to Dan’s and sent out the next day. Unfortunately UPS did not deliver the fish the next day - I don’t know why, the weather was not bad here. Jonny responded quickly and took care of credit to my account with no delay. Very happy with the customer service and will order again once it is warmer.

All the fish looked good, I ordered 10 rummynose tetras but it seems two died the first night in the tank while everyone else did amazing. I would order from the website again but would hope the communication would be a little better on when they’re being shipped because I didn’t receive an email when they were shipped, I assume it was because of the weather delay but still.

  • Comment: This is the first time I've ever ordered fish on line and the experience was great. Even working with me for the best day to be delivered. I ordered. 4 pea puffers and 4 red cherry shrimp. The puffer were all packed individually and the shrimp in one package with some moss. All arrived alive and looking great. The puffers had nice fat bellies and because they shared what they are feeding they took to the blood worms right away. All are lucky oking happy and healthy and headed to their best life. Yes the shrimp were for a different tank 😂 Thank you Dan's fish!

  • Comment: Wow..........8 Yo YO Loaches arrived safe and sound. Cannot be described as other than cute and wild little demons exploring their new home.....love em!!! So tiny and I only counted 7 when placing them in the tank and found number 8 in my recycle bin. That is what happens when you get past a certain age. This could not have been a better transaction even with a shipping delay for a closed airport due to snow storm. I will always check Dan`s when planning ahead.

He loves it. The girl started hanging out with the other guppies and seems to be settling in well too. Pics once they settle in, probably tomorrow.   • Comment: All arrive safe and sound. It's a 90 gallon tank filled with Nano fish, so it's very difficult to tell if they're thriving. They are schooling/shoaling with the Strawberry Rasbora. The Red Cherry Shrimp are very tiny and have been hiding. I've only seen one so far hiding/feeding in a thick batch of Hornwort and floating plants.

  • Comment: My fish arrived seemingly alive and well. After adding them to the tank and turning the light off for an hour, their color immediately returned and they look fantastic! They are in a tight school and look healthy and happy by all indications. I'm delighted as these are one of my absolute favorite fish species and I've heard horror stories about purchasing rummynose tetras from LFS's with them getting ich and so forth. Mine look to be in tip-top shape and are already thriving members of my community tank!

I am always stressed ordering rummynose tetras because they get sick so easily but so far so good. Delivery was delayed due to a snow storm grounding flights, and Dan’s Fish notified me immediately after picking the shipment back up to make sure the fish were safe! Unfortunately after 1 month he jumped out of the tank and I found him dried on the floor. So beware for jumpers. Otherwise is a beautiful fish and I’ll try again once it’s back in-stock

  • Comment: Very good and prompt communication. Asked to hold order for a week and was ok'd immediately. Was tracking shipment and said that there was going to be a delay for a day due to flight delay in Louisville KY. Luckily flight was resumed and order came in that same day very quickly. Fish came in well packaged and very warm. Temp on bags were 75.3°F, Local area was 63°F. All individually bagged and alive. Nanoluteus and Corydoras are adapting well a day later (especially the Corys.) Would definitely buy again from Dan. Thank you.

  • Comment: I ordered three pairs of killifish. All were extremely well packed, labeled, and arrived warm in winter. Two of the pairs were in great condition and fed right away (and have started breeding since). The third pair was not as well fed and took a few days to start feeding and put on some weight. I would give a 4.5 for this, but it seems unfair to lower to four for something that was essentially a 'be patient' problem. I am very pleased with the order, and would order again.

  • Comment: I ordered 10 Congo tetras, a snow white bushynose pleco, 3 white wizard snails, and 2 pairs of sunrise high fin platys. Everything arrived alive, healthy, and active. Now, 5 days later, no platys have survived. Everything else is eating and thriving. I am at a loss for why the platys have passed still. The congo tetras are in the same tank that the platys were in and they are doing great. I also had older endlers in the tank already, so I figured the environment worked for live bearers. Have no idea what went wrong. They passed so fast! Everything else is beautiful and I would order again, once I figure out why the platys died. Update: I emailed and was taken care of. Still highly recommend this company, and I would order again.

This was my first time with them and every time I visited my friend I would stop by the tank and I have to say I was attracted to them. So immediately placed an order for myself. Received them with no problem. Dan was right, they are great fish and will bring more surprises by keeping them, the tank is always lively and energetic with them. The box was well-packed and padded, with a heat pad that was still warm on arrival. The fish were all healthy on arrival and are still all alive with no signs of disease nearly a month later.   • Comment: I purchased this fish again because I lost one from my previous order..I think. I have them in a 21 gal. and I have not seen one for a few days. However, the tank has a few large dark hiding places so you never know. I have not actually seen the lost fish. I love all the fish but these have become my favorite and being a native goes well in this American continent tank. They are hilarious slower movers which did not mind my hands in the tank when needed. Gonna research these guys a bit more to see if they require any additional care I have missed. Thank you guys on some great fish.

  • Comment: As usual Dan's fish gave me premium quality fish. All looks great. I eventually lost one Lampeye a day ago but to be fair I have heard this about these fish which seem to be a bit delicate. They are in a 30 gal. tall but the other 5 seem to love schooling with a few other tetras in the tank. Overall some times this is to be expected since I think of my self as a newbie to fish keeping. BTW: The previous fish I purchased are all doing great and the colors are fantastic. All the best.

  • Comment: On my second purchase I noticed that all my fish were much the same. Healthy and warm they all looked great. The pencils and the Tetras were slightly colored but since then have popped with vibrant colors and are doing great. The only issue I have had is with the Black banded sunfish which is a first time for me owning this fish. I did my research but soon learned at least for me they are a bit picky with feeding. They seem to be graze around my floating or bottom plants for food. They are a bit of slow movers so may have to adjust to their habits. Kudos 100%

  • Comment: The shipment was delayed for one day. I asked the UPS driver why the delay. He said they had been cutting trees the day before and were blocking the road. That is a bogus excuse. They trim trees along the road frequently where I live and they always allow traffic to pass with a temporary delay. The fish were all alive and the bag temperatures were 72.1 F. The heat packs were still warm, in fact there were still warm four days after you shipped. The fish look great and I attribute the healthy arrival to your unique shipping procedure.   • Comment: As always, the fish and shrimp arrived on time in excellent condition. The 90 gallon tank has been completely stocked with fish, snails, and shrimp by Dansfish.com. During the almost 5 months the tank has been established we have only lost 3 Rummynose Rasboras. 1 was dead at arrival and 2 from ailments that appeared to be tumors or possibly parasites. 1 more is suffering from the same malady and not expected to survive. 6 of the 13 shrimp (Amanos, Algae Eaters, and 1 Bamboo Shrimp) were possibly eaten by 2 large Dragonfly Nymphs discovered in the tank. I cannot imagine purchasing livestock from any other source in the future!!!!!
