  • Comment: Dan's is THE BEST! I emailed multiple times with many questions regarding my order of Amazon Puffers - small. They were patient and responsive. They also do all the deworming as part of the quarantine process! I received my awesome little puffers today and they were individually bagged, healthly, packaged in a little cooler even! The puffers are adorable and all of them are darting around the tank like they own the place! LOL! I would absolutely recommend them and would buy from them in the future! THANK YOU DANS!

  • Comment: Dan is the real deal! Shipping was absolutely perfect and so are the fish. The shipping bags were so clean, that it almost looked like they were in a sterile environment. I've been in this hobby, since the age of 5 (now 53) and have been hard pressed for years to find healthy guppies. I've even puchased from an "award winning" guppy breeder in Sebring Florida and was not happy with the quality of fish that were sent to me. Dan's guppies are Very robust full-bodied, extremely healthy fish. And the female has already given birth. So, happy that I found Dan. What he is doing for the hobby is incredible. And he actually has an in house Veterinarian, which is unheard of in the retail fish hobby. Almost forgot to mention the Otocinclus. They have to be the healthiest and most active Oto's that I've ever purchased.

  • Comment: I bought a pair of the dumbo redtail guppy and four otocinlus (just to fill box because of shipping). The female guppy died 5 days after arrival. I was in communication and even send video to show the guppy not doing well before they died. The male died the next day. DF did not refund until more than ONE WEEK later. In addition, they only refunded for the cost of the guppy pair. They DID NOT refund the shipping. Apparently, they only refund the shipping cost if there was delay with shipping. This was surprising to me because it different from what I hear from the livestream. Buying guppy here is not worth it because the risk is the same as anywhere else except the shipping is expensive. In the end, it cost me $64 for four otocinus. I am only sharing my experience on the guppy. The otocinlus are great. I have no other experience buying other type of fishes.

The water in the bags was clean, and the fish look incredible before even adding them to my tank.   • Comment: I ordered 17 of the Rick's Orange Venezuelan Cories. They were well packaged seperately from each other. One was DOA and 2 died the next day. One more died a few days later so in all, 13 lived and are still healthy and doing well. I know these are sensitive fish and they were on the young side, so overall, I am satisfied with my purchase. They seem well acclimated to eating sinking foods and have already grown in size. I wouldn't hesitate to order more in the future.

I’m incredibly happy to have found such an incredible source for high quality livestock and feel like I can finally make online purchases with total confidence. ********16 day update, all doing well, picked their caves, chasing each other around and desperately wanting to eat guppy fry, just need to grow a bit more first. One guy in particular is a little firecracker! While the others mostly stay on the bottom and near their caves this one little rambunctious bugger has decided that he’s a guppy and spends half the day day mid to top water swimming with fry. Great little personalities on all these gobies. They kinda seem like the French bulldogs of the fish world.

Dan bags each fish individually and lines the box with styrofoam which seals in the proper temperature. My package came with a cool pack. The fish came in spunky fat and sassy as Dan would say 😁. Definitely recommend Dan's fish for your online shopping you'll definitely won't be sorry you did. Price may be higher than other online stores but you have to consider the care that was given to them before they were shipped out and how they package the fish , most fish stores put several fish into one bag but not at Dan's, each fish is in its own carefully packed bag. Unfortunately the week that I ordered these Congos there were several flight delays in Wyoming so the package came one day later that expected and there was one casualty but because of the way he packages that fish didn't affect any of the others. Within 10 minutes after emailing Dan about the DOA he had credited my account with the price of the fish and part of the shipping Superb job Dan and the crew keep doing what you're doing it's amazing!

  • Comment: Want to let everyone know that Dan's fish is by far the best online fish store I have ever shopped with. He individually packs each fish in its own bag. The box is insulated with Styrofoam sheets which keeps the internal temperature of the box at the perfect temperature mine had a cold packaged with it. The rummy nose tetra I received from Dan where the variety that had the silvery scales on the back by far my favorite rummy nose tetra variety. Within a half hour after adding to the quarantine tank the rummy nose had bright redheads !Definitely try out Dan's fish You will not be sorry I've decided to use only Dan when getting new fish he may be more expensive but he has quarantined them properly acclimated them properly and most of all packaged them properly. Thank you for your attention to detail Dan!

  • Comment: Best fish buying experience ever. Let's start with the customer service and communication. Everyone I communicated with responded to emails promptly and had a true interest in assisting me. When one of my catfish arrived DOA I sent an email and got a response in less than 10 min which was incredible. They immediately caught and packaged up a replacement and explained to me what happened with the fish who didn't make it. The other seven fish I ordered were three different types of rainbow fish and I can confidently say their Boeseman's Rainbowfish are some of the richest colored specimens I've ever seen. They have so much more color than the ones at my local fish store which tells me they are kept in healthy, established tanks. I do salt dips and quarantine tanks for safety but nobody came with obviously issues and they have all settled into my 80 gallon nicely. I will definitely be buying fish from Dan's again. I wish I could add pictures to this review!

I ordered 6 sparkling gouramis and a pair of hi-fin platies this time, and in the past I ordered a wonderful male L519 bristlenose pleco who is thriving in my 55 gallon tank. All of my fish arrived fat and sassy and ready to eat from the start, individually packaged, and packed upright and snug in the box so they did not shift around. I have them all in my own personal quarantine tank and they all made the night swimmingly! I'm never going to buy from another online fish store.   • Comment: Just one thing. .might be that I did not navigate but here it is. On you page it stated that the box is filled 42% of volume and suggested to shop for more fish. I did that and it bumped it to increased box size instead. The issue I have is that from there I could not go back and fine tune it. Eventually orderd fish came within that one original box. Only extras needed additional box. Ultimately it is not big issue but lack of communication might be. Somehow I think that I should be part of decision making. I was not prepared for those little tetras and although I love the fish I had to put then in a 5gall bucket"aquarium"..from your good deed it became problem for me. Fish look great and although they were a day too late they are doing just fine. Thanks Charles

Although a little apprehensive, I was encouraged by all the positive comments I was hearing online about Dan’s Fish. My case was even a little more involved as I live in Hawaii and needed to get an import permit! Well no need to be concerned! My fish arrived in one day … all the way from Wyoming to Honolulu … and are doing great. They arrived very well packaged and healthy. Couldn’t be happier!

  • Comment: I give a 5 for delivery. All fish were alive and doing great. The only issue are that the Platinum Rummy Nose Tetra are dying. Of the five I am down to three. They seem to be swimming fine and eat well but then they sink to the bottom and die overnight. I’m not complaining but just wanted to make you aware.

  • Comment: I ordered 12 Purple Harlequin Rasboras from Dan’s Fish. They were packed in the box with care. Each fish was in its own bag and all arrived alive and healthy. They were pale upon arrive due to travel stress but colored up as soon as I started floating they’re bags in my quarantine tank. This weekend I transferred them to my 40g breeder and they colored up even more. They are gorgeous and all have remained healthy and have eaten well from the beginning. Communication and customer service has also been great. My questions were always answered promptly. I highly recommend Dan’s Fish. I found the experience exceptional.

  • Comment: Two Coral Red Pencil fish came DOA, and my Threadfin rainbow order was short one fish. Within 12 hours of letting the store know, I received a refund notification by email. That’s amazing customer service. Impossible for a shop to always have 100% live arrival - so the issue is not the DOA itself - but how they respond to it. Buy from Dan’s Fish.

Thank ya'll for doing such a great job in packaging them and doing ya'lls best getting the fish ready for their journey ahead. Since I live in a city that has few options to purchase fish, I decided to try online sources. My experience with ordering from other places was not great and sadly I lost too many fish in transit.   • Comment: Cherry shrimp were all an intense red. No DOAs. In fact, it was the opposite - one shrimp was heavily berried. And then the C duplicareus, perhaps my favorite cories. So happy Dan has them -- the ones Dan sells are the perfect exemplar of this species.

  • Comment: This is my second order with Dan's. Same excellent service, same timely shipping, and most importantly, one hundred percent lively healthy fish. Sourcing good healthy livestock is the most important thing you can do to have a successful experience with any species. Very rarely will fish get better over time if they don't start out genetically sound and disease free. To me, finding superior fish and having them arrive safely makes Dan's Fish the best deal you will find.
