I’m really glad I did because they are very colorful, comical and all around entertaining. Their fins are like mermaids of the freshwater gobies. They also have been getting along with my desert gobies. I’ll hopefully get a good video at some point. I also ordered more gobies!

  • Comment: Expensive shipping. Took a week to be shipped but then it was thankfully sent next-day. All five fish arrived alive even though ice pack was goopy and hot. They arrived much smaller than expected but I guess that's ok because they'll grow up. I'm a little disappointed that it looks like I was sent 5 of all the same gender but I'm crossing my fingers as they get older their appearances will change and I'll be wrong about that. They transitioned into my heavily planted tank quite well and they seem at ease. I'm glad I ordered because it's my first attempt at this species and they were kind of hard to find, but those few things made the experience less than 100%. It definitely could've gone worse though, so I'd still consider this company again in the future if they have something I want bad enough to fork over the shipping again.

  • Comment: AMAZING!!! I am so happy my Youtube algorithm sent me to Dan! He has the most UNIQUE selection of fish, you are bound to find something on this site you haven't seen before! My CW-140 Corydoras came in about 5 days ago. So far all the fish have made it, they love their new tank and colored up quickly, ate within an hour of being introduced. Packaging is amazing, however I recommend removing the first of two bags before floating for temp acclimation, I think I shocked one fish due to this, but he later rebounded. JamesBFishtanks

  • Comment: There are no words to describe how healthy these fish came in. I ordered Cardinal Tetras, Otos, Hillstream Loaches, two Super Red Bushynoses, and one pea puffer. All individually bagged and the packing was top notch. All fish were colored up in less than 15 minutes and swimming happily. I was worried about ordering Otos online but they were beautiful and healthy, and I have 6 months worth of algae and biofilm for them to feast on. The pea puffer was a bit skinny and it hasn’t eaten yet (frozen bloodworms and live black worms) but overall seems in good health and is exploring the 40g with lots of energy. Beautiful, quality fish, I will be stocking all of my tanks with Dansfish. UPDATE: Puffer is now eating. I’d give 10/5 if I could.

  • Comment: I hesitated on giving a rating of four instead of five but the description of my purchase just did not match what I got. I ordered a Hypancistrus sp. L262 (L262 Stardust Pleco) which was advertised as being 2-3 inches in size. The actual critter would have to stretch to be 1 inch. This is not a big deal but I just can't give a five when what is advertised does not match the delivery. This was probably just an oversight but could be important depending on other fish in the tank. All in all I like these people. I've thrown several questions at them through their contact form and, while they could not help in all cases, the response has always been quick and polite. All in all I would highly recommend this outfit.

These little beans are super healthy, came in looking fantastic despite being delayed by UPS by a day, and were eating and settling in nicely within 24 hours! You can't ask for better than that!!   • Comment: Even though Dan's Fish normally only ships on Mondays and Wednesdays, They made an exception for me and shipped on a Thursday for delivery on Friday when I was going to have a day off of work. The fish were shipped on Thursday afternoon and arrived before 9am on Friday in excellent health. They were a little skittish in the quarantine tank (as expected), but eagerly came out for a little food later in the day. In the last few days, they've very enthusiastically accepted frozen blood worms and mysis shrimp, flake, and micro pellet food. I'm very happy with this purchase, and will definitely be buying from Dan's Fish in the future!!

I'm making him a sand waterfall, from slate rocks. He loves all the nooks and crannies and he's really interactive with it. It night he buries himself where the sand falls. I asked if they could accommodate selecting fish by gender (2 males, 4 females) and they were happy to help which was greatly appreciated for M. boesemani. Males were guaranteed and they did their best for females noting immature males/females may look the same which is honest and fair. Very happy overall.

But, could not be happier with entire transaction --- from ordering, to communication, to notifications, to actual delivery. The Fish!!! About a year ago, I lost 6 of my 10 african knives (no sympanthy from my fish friends when they found out I had them for 20 years) and had been looking to replace them. Dan's fish had 7 at a reasonable cost, so, of course, I bought all of them. They arrived healthy, active, a couple even eating what I offered an hour out of the bag. Currently, chilling in quanitine, but I'm looking forward to having a "full" tank of knives again crusing happily around one tank. Based on this experience, I will be back for more "wish list" fish from Dan's fish and can recommend Dan's fish without any reservation.
