Overview:
All the neon gobies are dazzling, and this is no exception. Nuptial males develop a horizontal neon blue stripe down the length of their body that would make the Las Vegas strip proud. This contrasts very nicely with their dark body color, making them an eye-catching fish. Unlike the similar looking S. semoni whose fins are clear, S. atropurpureus has nicely colored and patterned fins.
