Overview: Have a snail problem? These loaches love to eat "pest" snails. This fish is a peaceful bottom dweller that loves to clown around in groups. Until they settle in, they will hide. Once they settle in, they will hide until food hits the tank, at which point they will swarm out in a group to eat. Their color pattern is quite pretty, reminding us of an elongated clown loach.

Setup Considerations: Some nooks, crannies, and caves on the bottom of the aquarium will be much appreciated and help these fish feel secure. If you have a sandy substrate, they will sift through it and burrow under hard scape. They usually don't burrow enough to disturb plants and generally make a great addition to a planted aquarium.

Specific Care Requirements: A highly social fish that needs friends to thrive, these do best in groups … the bigger the better.

Diet: Peaceful Predator: These constantly sift through the substrate in search of worms, larvae, crustaceans, and other prey. They are not picky and eat most of the typical aquarium foods. Don't forget the occasional algae wafer or other veggie based food in order to make sure they get a complete diet.
