Overview:
A neat catfish to breed, these spawn regularly and successfully in our hard, alkaline water. Once a popular staple in the hobby, they almost disappeared due to being unable to be exported from Brazil. These guys are like plecos meets otocinclus meets corydoras. They're very peaceful and prefer to stay on the substrate rather than hanging out on other surfaces.

Setup Considerations:
These fish are hardy and do well in most setups. They appreciate sand or fine gravel and will burrow into it in much the same way that Chameleon Whiptail Catfish and other lip brooding catfish do.

Diet: Omnivore
We feed a rotation of Aquarium Coop brand foods, Algae Wafers, and sinking protein pellets as well the occasional treat of brine shrimp or bloodworms.
