Overview: The most colorful and smaller fish in the Thorichthys genus. They're also on the mild mannered side of cichlids, although individuals may vary.

Setup Considerations: These guys do well in shoals of 6 or more. They like to dig through the substrate looking for food and building nests to spawn.

Specific Care Requirements: Like most cichlids, they can become hyper aggressive when they're in spawning mode, so having a second tank to separate them is a good idea.

Diet: Omnivore. In the wild they pick through the substrate eating little invertebrates. They're readily eating flakes and pellets for us.
