Overview: They are a brilliant yellow color with the males having a pattern on their sides.

Setup Considerations: Perfect for a planted tank. They lay their eggs in the roots of floating plants. They're peaceful, community fish that do well with all types of other fish. They're big enough to not be considered food for a lot of your medium sized cichlids, like Geophagus and Firemouths.

Specific Care Requirements: Unlike your common ricefish, Oryzias latipes, these are a tropical species that can't take colder temperatures.

Diet: Omnivore. They aren't picky and will eat prepared foods like flakes and pellets.
